Love. We feel like we’re writing about it a lot lately. Love for people. Love for music. Love for movies. Love that ends. Love that grows. Yup, there is a lot of love happening over here (which hey, celebrate it, because like we’re cynics and think sometimes that love is a scam).
Are we happy for people who find love? Yes. After all, we’re not dead inside (fully aware it’s debatable, but being as we cry a lot, we’re going with being alive). We think that when you find love, especially after one chapter of love ends in your life, you should celebrate it.
Recently, one person that we’ve loved seeing fall in love and celebrate it for what it is, is Kelsea Ballerini. We’ve been listening to her EP, and we’re loving her song, How Do I Do This.
If you aren’t familiar with the song, it is about Kelsea’s first date after her divorce. She writes, “Doing last looks in the mirror/Tell myself, “I got this, I got this”/But I’m back at the beginning again and now/So if I’m honest/I’m scared of looking stupid/Said I, I’m ready now, I gotta prove it/Got a little black dress, I wanna use it.”
And why is that part relevant? Well, it’s because she posted on TikTok a video that she sent her best friend the night of her first date with her boyfriends, Outer Banks star, Chase Stokes. The video is set to the song.

We love her showing this and being completely open and vulnerable to her fans. The reality is that she doesn’t have to do this, but she does and yet keeps her life private. We LOVE that for her.
“I can do this! I can do this! It’s just a date. You just go and you eat food and you talk about things that you do,” Kelsea says to herself. We love that she’s her own hype woman here, it’s what one should be.
We love she is happy and hyped herself up. We’re so glad that she’s happy and in love. Happiness looks good on you Kelsea!
