This piece was written during the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike. Without the labor of the actors currently on strike, tv shows and movies being covered in Fangirlish Feels of the Week wouldn’t exist. We stand with SAG-AFTRA.
We watch a lot of TV and movies! And we read a lot of books too, not to mention the time we spend on TikTok. In case all the reviews, interviews, news, and features didn’t give you a clue (wink, wink), we come together to highlight all those great moments that our favorite shows, movies, and books give us throughout the week. On these Fangirlish Feels of the Week, there are four categories and many thoughts! Ready?
Here we go!
Moment that made you collapse into a puddle of FEELS

Raquel: Still Up season 1 ending. That last scene with Danny and Lisa left me on the floor covered in tears. Danny overcomes his fear and dares to go and confess in person to Lisa what he feels for her but she… is not ready yet. Even though he loves him as much as he loves her. So Danny bites the bullet and puts everything he feels under lock and key again. That broke me.
Rachel: I finally got to watch the Disney short film “Once Upon a Studio” this week, celebrating the studio’s 100 anniversary, and I was brought to tears hearing Robin Williams’ voice as the Genie again. They found old, unused recordings, and though it only last a moment, it was wonderful.
Erin: I was watching Lessons in Chemistry and when Elizabeth keeps seeing Calvin with the baby, I broke. I feel for her – he’s gone and she needs him. It was a lot to see and it was heartbreaking. Loving this show.
WTF Moment of the Week

Rachel: This moment has to be the end of this week’s episode of Loki. I was just like Mobius, asking WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED????? Victor Timely just shreds into nothing and then…the Temporal Loom exploded?!?!? Didn’t that kill everyone??? Definitely WTF.
Ashley W.: Seconding what Rachel said, because Loki episode 2×04 truly had me asking the TV, “WTF?!” I was trying to figure out how time looped the way it did, and it made my brain hurt. And then the end just made me even more confused and shocked.
Erin: The whole movie, Ms. Christmas Comes to Town. It was just horrible and I wondered who the hell green lit that one. It was just a lot.
Shana: Pat’s whole nightmare at the end of Shining Vale 2×03 but, like, in the best way. Just “OMG WTF, that’s so cool” all the way.
What We’re Reading This Week

Rachel: This week, I was continuing with my book from last week and enjoyed a bit of fan fiction for Miss Scarlet and the Duke.
Erin: I have been reading an ARC of Emma Lords upcoming book (it’s out in 2024) and I am loving it. She has such a great and relatable voice. You’re gonna wanna read The Break-Up Pact: A Novel.
Lyra: I started reading A Deal with the Elf King by Elise Kova and I’m honestly really liking it a lot. Fantasy is usually hit or miss and the cover, Google it for sure, isn’t usually my taste. But the heroine seems to be honest and kind in a way that doesn’t feel stereotypical.
She’ll fight for what she has to and she has her morals. It doesn’t matter if she loves you, she’s going to stick to them. And I really appreciate that. It’s still early on in the book so that could change. But right now I like her.
Also, I’m reading this through a graphic audiobook. I’ve never tried one like this before and it’s pretty good so far. Especially the voice of the elf king. 10 out of 10.
What We Rewatched This Week

Christabel : Around this time of year I rewatch a lot of my favorite shows and I am currently rewatching Game of Thrones. One thing I noticed this time around is the writers were right in making Arya kill the Night King – she was the only trained assasin.
Yes, Daenerys had her dragons and Jon Snow had his army to fight the white walkers. But Arya had the one thing no one else had – the art of surprise and skill thanks to her time with the many faced God.
The Night King would have easily killed Jon Snow and Daenerys, and turned their army and the remaining dragon to zombies – then what? the world wouldn’t stand a chance then. The Night King was waiting for them to make this mistake but he didn’t see Arya Stark coming until it was too late and that’s the best part!
Ashley W.: Long overdue, I started an Agent Carter rewatch—partially because the automat featured in Loki made me want to revisit the Marvel TV show that originally aired on ABC. I’m just a few episodes into the first season, but it reminded me of how much fun it is to see Peggy Carter be a badass S.S.R. agent. Also, Daniel Sousa in a sweater vest is adorable, and he just deserves more love in general!
Erin: Lately, I have been rewatching a lot of old NCIS shows. I don’t know why, but it’s like Law & Order – when it’s on, you just stop and watch it. The older episodes – I am like how the hell was this made. A lot of offensive things. I like the newer episodes better.
Shana: There are six Scream movies. It is less than a week away from Halloween. Obligatory rewatch through all of them has commenced.
