There are many times with FOUND that I spend my time staring at the screen and asking myself what I just watched. It’s not a bad thing that I say that, because it’s something that I find this show surprising me and keeping my attention. It doesn’t matter what goes on – even if I have seen the screener – I need to sit down and watch every last second.
And this week is no exception to this, with Shanola Hampton and Mark-Paul Gosselaar blowing me away.
Look, when it comes to Mark-Paul Gosselaar, I admit that I have a tendency to think of him from Pitch or Saved by the Bell and this isn’t that. He’s straight up crazy. Like full on scary crazy. I was so angry watching him in this episode and also blown away about how much I will now also associate him with this show. He’s just straight up FREAKING ME OUT.
But when it comes to the this episode, Shanola Hampton as Gabi had me screaming at the screen and also cheering her on. Keeping her secret is becoming very complicated, especially with Sir being spotted near her home.
The way that the last episode of FOUND ended up, I believed that Sir had escaped. I believed that Sir was on the loose and he was coming for Gabi for locking him in her basement. I was convinced that this sighting was credible.
And so was Gabi.
When she gets home, she’s ready to attack. Gabi portrays herself as someone that has no fear, but she does. She’s filled with fear and that’s okay. It’s okay to be vulnerable, but I feel like she thinks that if she does that she’s giving Sir some power over her. She doesn’t see that he’s already got power. She doesn’t see that she keeps giving him power over her.

I’ve said it before and I will say it again, Gabi needs help.
Finding Sir still in the basement shocked me. I had expected him to be free. But him there, just laying in his bed in the basement, well – it shows that he wants to be there and Gabi isn’t afraid to call him out on it.
Sir is obsessed with her. Hell during this episode we find out that he’s been following her for 20 years. So her getting ahold of him and being able to lock her up was calculated on his behalf. He wants Gabi to love him. He wants the two to be equals. He’s willing to sacrifice himself and her because if he can’t have her, no one can.
It’s quite disturbing.
I’ve often wondered if Gabi should tell Lacey. But when Lacey shows up to stay at her house, because she’s afraid, I know it’s right not to tell her. Lacey is at least getting help, but she’s just as screwed up as Gabi. Both of them have that right and it’s understandable. But, as we find out that Sir wants to kill Lacey, that he blames her for Gabi leaving him, I want Gabi to protect her.
And I realize that’s all she’s been trying to do.
With Trent and Lacey going in and out Gabi’s house, Sir is gaining the upper hand. Gabi knows that he’s playing a mind game and he knows that she’s playing one too. It’s crazy to me to see just how both of these two are playing this mind fuck game. I have to say though, one of the most disturbing things in the world was when Sir made her say that she loves him. I wanted to vomit. I felt her pain.
He knows that he’s got her. He tells her that he wasn’t just following her. He was searching for Bella, who he now knows as Lacey, and that if she ever tries to turn him in, if she ever tries to end their thing, Lacey will pay with her life.
When Gabi’s face reacts, I do see that there is this gut punch with that. Lacey is her family – the only family that she has left. She’s willing to do anything to protect her and to make her feel safe.
This is game on. What has happened before is childs play.

THE CASE
If you are a fan of this show, I think you will agree with me that Dhan is one of the best characters on it. He’s complex. Sometimes angry. Sometimes loving. He’s all over the place, but it’s not because he wants to be. It’s whatever his past has been and how it’s changed him.
Dhan frequently visits the unhoused, and gives back to them. He lets them know that someone is there for him. He lets them know that they aren’t forgotten. When one of his friends disappears, he calls Gabi. They are going to find him.
You can’t help but love this team, because you know that no matter what is going on in their lives, they are going to be there for the missing first. Sure, they have their own shit, but saving others is what matters.
Making sure that people know that they are not forgotten is one of the greatest gifts that anyone can give. Dhan making sure that he is there for others, even though he doesn’t know how to be there for himself. He’s a good man and he’s resilient. He’s loving.
And he’s going to get out of his comfort zone in order to save those around him.
When the team finds the missing man, he wants to kill himself. He wants to die because he blames himself for his wife and kids dying. It’s definitely sad to see because all he wants to do is take back time and that’s just not something that anyone can do. But they can help him to move forward.
Life is for living and he needs a reminder of that. Just because he is in the unhoused community doesn’t mean he is forgotten. I think that all too often in life we don’t think about what these people are going through and that we, as human beings, need to be better about being there for them.
Something has to change.

The little layers that they start to strip away with Dhan, I love to see. I want to know more.
THE TRENT OF IT ALL
If you don’t ship Gabi and Trent, I am really sorry for your choices in life. These two are perfection. Gabi may keep him at arms length, but I don’t think that will last forever.
You can tell he cares about her. He has checked up on everything to make sure that she’s okay. Finding out that he’s been keeping secrets from her about Sir though – it makes me suspicious.
I want to believe that Trent really does like her, but this makes me wonder if he’s really just trying to get ahead. I don’t know. Normally when they are too good to trust, it’s for a reason.
And he’s giving me reasons.
I think that eventually it’s gonna come down to him and Sir fighting over Gabi, so please start training Trent. Please.

- Margaret feeling bad about going to the train station. As you should, but also I know she needs to go.
