What an episode! Found reinvigorated itself in a way that I wasn’t sure that they could. But, I am so happy that they did. While I have loved all of the episodes that have aired, I did think that to a certain point, certain things were stagnant. We weren’t learning enough about the characters, but this episode changed all of that. It made sure to remind us of what we are watching and why you don’t want to miss an episode.
I for one can appreciate that.
In this episode, you had no choice but to pay attention to every moment, because there was so much that was happening. It was a lesson of who to trust, who not to trust, and moving forward.
Starting with Gabi, she’s living in fear. She would do anything to protect Lacey and knowing that Sir wants to kill her, the game has been upped for her. She’s having to figure out how to balance it all. But the way she does that is to dive head first into work. With work, at least she has some control and that seems to be the most important thing to her.
With everything that has been taken away from her in her life, it’s really no surprise that Gabi requires control in her life. We would all want to be that way. It keeps her safe and after Sir’s ultimatum she’s definitely going to hold on tighter to being in charge.
While the team is hired to find an influencer that has disappeared, they are all examining aspects of their lives.
Lacey tells Zeke that she wants to take a leave of absence. She doesn’t know what is going on with Gabi, but the distance that is between the two of them is destroying her. While you can tell to a certain point that Zeke has feelings for her, I do believe that his support of her is because she needs a friend and that’s what he does.
He spends his time giving and giving and being a friend to everyone, but I have to wonder who is there for him. He doesn’t think about it that way though – he just wants to help everyone and for that, I can’t even be mad at Zeke.
Over the episodes, I do have to say that I have loved the evolution of Dhan and Zeke’s relationship. Seeing them become friends has been a blessing, because Zeke needs friends. He needs people who are there for him.
One thing that this episode showed me was that even with all of the pain that each one of the characters has experienced, each wants nothing more than to be able to move forward. Well, besides Sir, because he wants to remain a psycho.
And TBH, I am sure that Gabi wants to grow, but how she’s going about it feels like she doesn’t. She’s protective of everyone, however, at the same point she’s completely reckless.
The team is diving in to trying to find the missing influencer, when Trent gets called into the precinct. His captain tells him that if he betrays Gabi, well he can get his badge back (basically). I didn’t think that he would ever betray Gabi, because it’s obvious that he loves her. It’s completely obvious.
Him betraying her wasn’t on my bingo card, but here we are. And I was a little disappointed that he did.
As the team looks deeper into the case, they think that the influencers husband is cheating and that he had her kidnapped. But they find out that it’s not like that – they are in a throuple. Not gonna lie, I had to laugh when Gabi asked what that was. Didn’t see that one coming.
Margaret, well she is amazing in the fact that she notices everything. She notices in the proof of life that they got that she knows her kidnapper. I have to say she kinda terrifies me with what she notices. You can’t get anything past her. She does notice when she sees the video of the influencer being kidnapped that it’s a body type she recognizes.
It’s the influencers assistant.
What was hard to see was that the person that they were trying to save died. She was smothered. It hit Gabi hard to not be able to save her, but I thought it was important for us to see, because if they could save everyone, the show would not be as good in my opinion.
THE SIR OF IT ALL
Sir is sick and TBH, I woulda thought Gabi woulda let the man go, but also, this is a television show and they need to maintain. The best part of Sir being sick is that we get to see more about him and understand why he is the way that he is.
I mean it’s no excuse – no excuse at all.
Sir’s Mom was abusive and like on a scale that she deserves to spend her life in jail and that still wouldn’t be good enough. During him being sick he hallucinates and sees all these moments with his Mom.
Whereas I am not sure if they were trying to make us feel for him or if they were trying to make us want to feel for him – all I still feel for him was hatred. He’s a psycho and there is no redemption for him.
OTHER THOUGHTS
- The moment at the end between Lacey and Gabi at the end – I loved it. I also felt like why are we giving Gabi a pass at everything. I was so frustrated that Gabi continues to lie to her, even if I understand why.
- Margaret seeing a therapist and admitting that she needs help made me cry. I loved this step forward for her.
- Zeke being willing to give up a million dollars – he’s such a good man.
