Found has found its footing long before this episode, but this episode solidified that it is a show to be reckoned with. It has solidified that if we ever thought that Found was something that couldn’t last. The truth is that they found a way to show that everything fits into a bigger piece of the puzzle.
Though I didn’t think that we’d ever revisit the past cases, we did in this episode. We revisited Tony, who was shot and had been in a coma. He’s woken up and Gabi wants to see him. Tonys Dad doesn’t want to have her come in. He doesn’t want Gabi around. But she knows that the police won’t be so far behind to get Tony. He kidnapped a child.
She wasn’t wrong. The police do show up quickly, ready to take Tony in. She’s willing to fight for him, even if his Dad doesn’t want her involved. Even if she should be keeping her space, she’s not willing to do that. She’s not willing to be put in a situation where she doesn’t fight with everything that she is for those who need her.
It doesn’t matter that M&A is on the verge of loosing their PI license because of what happened in episode 9, with the missing person that they were looking for dying. They may be on thin ice, but this definitely isn’t about to stop Gabi. Now, M&A’s team may all be split on what to do, but Gabi is using her status as it being “Moseley” & associates to make all the choices.
There is no part of me that agrees with the way that Gabi is handling things, because what she is doing is affecting so many people. What she is doing will have universal consequences for so many of them. There is though, this unwavering devotion from all of them that they are willing to do what she needs.
But part of me wonders why they aren’t seeing that her judgement is clouded. They aren’t seeing that she’s not in control of her emotions.
Then again, though, I have to say that I am happy that she doesn’t listen and she does whatever needs to be done. It forces Tony’s parents to hire her and the team. They know that their son needs help. It just won’t force Tony to listen to her. He’s willing to do whatever to drive her away.
While I do love that the team at M&A are willing to do whatever it is to find people, what I have a little bit of trouble with is that they are sometimes careless with each other. For instance, though I get that they are caught up in a case, during the whole thing, no one seemed to stop and think about what the possibility of loosing their license could do to Zeke.
Except Zeke.
It makes Zeke think so much that he even calls his father, who we find out is a politician for help. You can see the pain in Zeke’s eyes when he has to call his Dad and when his Dad is just kinda really rude. He tells his son that he only calls when he needs something.
Now, I am just gonna say this – Zeke’s Dad doesn’t seem to get that healing from trauma isn’t a linear thing. It takes time. And whatever Zeke went through, he went through. What he needs is understanding and for his father to not give him that is deplorable. For him to try and gaslight Zeke is deplorable.
Watching this show, I am pretty sure that no one on this show, outside of M&A, gets all of the things that M&A does. The lengths that they will go to in order to save people and their attention to detail is just inspirational and also kinda freaky. Like they seem to be able to solve anything.
And yes, sometimes it is too late. Sometimes it’s only because of the things that they have been through. But it doesn’t matter what it is – they are going to get there, because getting there is the only way to save those that need saving.
For them, it brings them back to the school that Tony went to. They’re able to talk to the kids there, find out somethings about Tony, and they realize that whomever is part of this trafficking ring is at the school.
I almost vomited when we all found out it was his principal. Like, she’s straight up crazy and for some reason she thinks that being a crazy b**ch is saving all of the kids that she’s trafficking. I don’t know how Gabi didn’t beat her ass right there. The principal having a history of schools with missing kids and high truancy at her previous school.
I guess that no one seemed to do a deep dive into her character. If we’re being honest, I feel like it’s a testament to all of the things that we don’t do with our educational system and how we’ve constantly letting out youth down. Yes, I am aware that some will remind me that this is a television show. And I will remind you that sometimes in life, it’s emulated onto television. It’s pulled from life – real life. There’s just too much crap that goes on in the world and sometimes the only way that we see that is if we see it in television and movies.
We see that it’s happening for a long time. For instance, we find towards the end that Sir was Gabi’s teacher. That he was in a position of trust and took advantage of a girl and held her hostage.
We do see a moment where a girl was at the house, and pounding at the door, saying that her cell died and she needed help. She came back when Sir was gone and told Gabi that she would get her help.
Gabi remembers every moment. She remembers everything she went through. She remembers Annie’s eyes. See, that girl that said she would help her, that she would get help – that was Annie.
So it leaves so many questions for us. Like did Sir kill Annie? Was Annie an accomplice? What does Annie know? Where is Annie? Will Gabi find her and get her help?
My favorite part of the episode was the ending, because Zeke got a visit from his Dad with the PI license for M&A reinstated. Just seeing the way his Dad wants to be there for him, but also seeing the way Zeke needed him. I truly hope they work everything out.
Because everyone needs people and everyone needs to forgive themselves. I hope that Zeke and his father find a way.
