Football. TBH, totes not my thing, but when it comes down to it, I have watched more than I ever have due to Taylor Swift. It amazes me that so many people have issues with her attending games and the amount of screen time that she gets (which is like 20-30 seconds – at least it feels like that). The reality is that she’s made a lot of people want to tune in.
So ya, I am going to need people to explain why one woman exposing people to a sport and making people want to watch is a bad thing. Don’t get it.
As we all know, Taylor is dating Travis Kelce from The Kansas City Chiefs and recently met his brother Jason.
Jason was speaking with Caleb Noe, a reporter for Cincinnati’s ABC affiliate, WCPO, and addressed Taylor’s coverage on television during the games.
“The attention is there because the audience wants to see it,” Jason Kelce said. “I mean, if people didn’t want to see it, they wouldn’t be showing it. I know that.”
Speak that logic Jason! He added, “She’s a world star. She’s the quintessential artist right now in the world, singer-songwriter, immensely talented, unbelievable role model for young women across the globe. So I think that the NFL would probably be foolish not to, you know, show her and be a role model for all the young girls out there.”
PREACH! Look, the reality is that all of these young girls (and hey, even us older ones) are watching football for the first time. They’re not annoyed by it, they don’t think it’s just a Friday night right of passage in high school.
We’re all for it and we appreciate that Jason Kelce gets it too.
