Amazon Freevee announced the official April 18 premiere date and released the trailer for the new single-camera comedy series, Dinner with the Parents and we can’t wait for this one! Ready?
Here we go!
The series is about a weekly family get-together that always devolves into chaos. Every Friday evening, the closely-knit Langers prove that it takes those we love best to bring out our worst. On tonight’s menu: pranks, schemes, unwelcome neighbors, childhood crushes, at least one felony, many very bad decisions, and a scrumptious, freshly-baked apple crisp.
The first four episodes of Dinner with the Parents will be available to stream exclusively on Amazon Freevee in the U.S. beginning on Thursday, April 18, with two additional episodes available each Thursday until the finale on May 9.
Dinner with the Parents stars Michaela Watkins as Jane, Dan Bakkedahl as Harvey, Carol Kane as Rose/Nana, Henry Hall as David, Daniel Thrasher as Gregg, and Jon Glaser as Donnie. The guest stars also include Rob Delaney, Christine Adams, and Mircea Monroe.
The show is based on the U.K.’s Channel 4 award-winning series Friday Night Dinner, created by Robert Popper. The series has been cemented as one of Channel 4’s most successful comedies following record-breaking viewing figures.
The series is produced by CBS Studios with Big Talk Studios. Jon Beckerman is the showrunner as well as an executive producer. Tristram Shapeero also serves as executive producer. The series is executive produced by Kenton Allen and Saurabh Kakkar from Big Talk Studios, as well as Robert Popper for Popper Pictures, and Caroline Leddy.
Dinner with the Parents will premiere on April 18 on Prime Video.
