Passionflix founder Tosca Musk is one busy woman. She’s been putting out film after film after film since the streaming service launched in 2017. The service specializes in adapting best-selling Romance novels for the screen. We’ve got our favorites, like the Gabriel’s Inferno series and The Secret Life of Amy Bensen. We’ve been wanting the opportunity to sit down with her for a while now, so we were very excited about this interview and getting to discuss her latest project Wallbanger.
When we spoke with Musk, we asked her about why she feels it’s so important to get the exact locations for certain parts of the books she’s adapting.
“You know, it is really important. I think there’s so many beautiful locations in so many of the books that we option. And you know, true enough, there are some places that you can replicate. Like it’s easy to shoot maybe New York in Atlanta or the opposite way around. But it is really hard to shoot Nerja, Spain in Atlanta, Georgia. And because it was such a beautiful and important part to the characters relationship, and it was important to the author as well we really wanted to take the actors out there and film just for a few days even because it doesn’t take that much but we love to bring a little bit of that experience and that location to the fans as well.”
We think Musk has the right attitude about location shoots. Now, we know that it’s not always easy to get the locations you want, but when it happens, it definitely does make a big difference in a film. You’re literally transported right there and it’s always fun to see the locations you picture in your head come to life onscreen.
During our interview, we also asked Musk what scene in Wallbanger was the most difficult to shoot. Her answer surprised us, and we also learned just how difficult it is to work with cats. To see what she had to say, watch the interview below.
Wallbanger will be available to stream on April 11th on Passionflix.
