We watch a lot of TV and movies! And we listen to a lot of music, podcasts, audiobooks…so yeah, we’re fangirling over a lot of things! Each week we come together to highlight all the feels they give us throughout the week. On these Fangirlish Feels of the Week, there are five categories and many thoughts! Ready?
Here we go!
What You’re Fangirling Over This Week

Rachel: Well, May the 4th means Star Wars time for me. I rewatch the films every year around this time, and this year they entertained me as thoroughly as they always did. The Original Trilogy is still my favorite and always will be, but the Prequels have a special place in my heart as well. And Rogue One is amazing and special. Plus, Han and Leia will be one of my top OTPs until my last breath.
Amanda P.: I finished my first-time watch of The Way Home this week, and I have so many feelings. The Landry women finally getting resolution 16 years in the making? Elliot getting his “five more minutes”? Kat ensuring Susanna’s legacy?
I have so many questions for Season 3, and I’m so glad I found this show. (Also, Kat and Elliot are now one of my OTPs. Sorry to Thomas, you’re very charming and all, but I am a sucker for the very specific kind of lived-in, messy, “I love you but sometimes I’m mad at you but also I’m always going to be there for you” intimacy that Kat and Elliot have in spades).
Ashley W.: Chloe Bennet mentioning Dousy (Daisy Johnson and Daniel Sousa from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) during the panel she did with her AoS costar Jeff Ward during FAN EXPO Philadelphia last week has been giving me so much life. She said that she thinks her character, Daisy, has probably pulled a lot of tricks on Sousa, her man-out-of-time boyfriend played by Enver Gjokaj. The thought of that alone makes me want to cry happy tears, because it’d be so adorable to see my OTP pulling cute, silly pranks on each other.
I just love that, nearly four years since the show ended and we last saw Dousy, we’ve managed to get Dousy content. Not to mention she also called Sousa “so pure and sweet,” which just makes it all the more heartwarming as someone who also absolutely adores Sousa. Major shoutout to the fan whose question prompted this answer!
Brittany: Chicago Med gave us another Mitch Ripley-centric episode this week, and from the moment I realized it was picking up where the last Ripley story left off, I feared that it was going to be Melodrama Central. Never fear! Luke Mitchell is fast becoming the best reason to watch this show, because no matter what the writers throw at him, he makes it work.
But the scenes between Ripley and Charles actually had more to offer than just “oh hey we still have a history together,” and most of the cases were pretty solid, too. I have a complex relationship with this show given all of its highs and lows, but it made me smile to see it do well this week, especially with an actor whom I’ve come to appreciate even more since I was first introduced to him on Blindspot.
Ashley T.: I’m so impressed with how good these past few episodes of Star Trek: Discovery have been. Star Trek: Discovery 5×07 “Erigah” had it all—political maneuvering, action, and high emotional stakes. I hope they continue to ride this momentum into the final episodes of the series. This crew deserves nothing less.
WTF Moment of the Week

Rachel: I was very sad to hear about the death of Bernard Hill this week. He was an actor you would recognize from his excellent work in many things, like The Lord of the Rings trilogy and Titanic. I am sorry we will not see any more work from him, he elevated everything he was in.
Amanda P.: I did not have a Red White & Royal Blue sequel announcement on my bingo card but I am here for it! Now, could we also get some adaptations of more romance books? Please and thank you!
Amanda W.: Of course there will always be people who don’t follow the theme when attending the Met Gala, but why was Chris Hemsworth wearing a literal plain cream colored suit when he was a co-chair of the event this year? There’s no way he didn’t have time to work with someone to get an outfit that was actually on theme.
Ashley T.: No spoilers from me if you’ve not seen it, but that big thing that happened in Star Trek: Discovery 5×07 “Erigah” broke my heart. Here’s hoping they can fix that WTF by the end of the series.
What We’re Listening to This Week

Rachel: The episodes of the “What A Barb” podcast about Colin and Penelope on Bridgerton are always fun and their latest quick eps covering all the new promo leading up to season three are that but they also let me know that there are other Polin fans out there feeling the same as me.
We’re all trying to be excited to see our couple finally get together on screen but are also nervous about certain plot theories because Shondaland. It’s going to be great when they actually discuss season 3.
Ashley W.: I didn’t realize until recently that “Lose Control” by Teddy Swims is a very popular song right now, because I’d only known it from my adult ballet class as the song my teacher chose for our routine. Nevertheless, I really enjoy the song and am glad it was chosen. Because I’m not sure I would’ve discovered it otherwise, and it has been cool to associate that song with movement.
Brittany: I broke out my Bobby Caldwell albums recently. He was the very first artist I saw perform live, and remained a huge voice in my lifetime from growing up through to adulthood. I was lucky enough to interview him once, too. I still think he has one of the best voices I’ve ever heard, and would encourage everyone to check out his best-known song, “What You Won’t Do For Love.” It’s iconic for a reason.
Ashley T.: I revisited Star Trek: Strange New Worlds – Subspace Rhapsody this week. I can’t believe how lucky the Star Trek fandom is to have such a multi-talented class for this show. I can’t wait for the vinyl release of this album next month. If you’re into vinyl, be sure to hit up your friendly local record store for a copy of your own!
What We Rewatched This Week

Rachel: Like I said earlier, around this time of year, it’s Star Wars for me.
Amanda P.: For some reason, I found myself watching Letters to Juliet this week. The early 2010s were not a strong era for rom-coms, but this one still manages to be charming, even though the actual main romance is meh. Vanessa Redgrave and Franco Nero absolutely make this movie. That being said: this might have one of the very worst last lines in any rom-com I’ve ever seen.
Ashley W.: Certainly a less traditional answer than what I and others usually say, but I’ve watched the video of Corey Cott reading thirst comments that The Heart of Rock and Roll Broadway posted many, many, many times this week. And I’m not even saying that because the video includes a clip of the sauna scene content we deserve. It’s so amusing to see and hear his reactions to the comments that I can’t help but let it play on repeat!
Brittany: The very first Tulsa episode of The First 48, “Ringside Seat,” repeated on the same day that I was talking to Jason White about it on his podcast Into the Fire. (Shameless self-promotion: you can watch Jason and Ronnie Leatherman and I talk about true crime things here.) And there will be an After the First 48 about it. I have all the nostalgia feels and readers can expect an in-depth dive into this episode next Thursday.
Ashley T.: Mr. Nerdy Blogger and I revisited a couple of episodes of Star Trek: Lower Decks. I’m going to miss this crew. It’s such a positive, fun, and funny show, aside from being a total love letter to Star Trek. Cerritos strong!
Badass Character of the Week

Rachel: When I watch Star Wars, the answer to this is Leia. Whether she is a Princess or a General or whatever, it’s Leia. Always Leia.
Amanda P.: One of the hardest things in the world is to stand up for yourself to someone you love (or, at the very least, loved once). Maya Bishop of Station 19 had a tough week, but her courage and determination really were something to behold.
Brittany: Congratulations, Nolan Price from Law & Order — you finally did what I have been begging you to do since NBC brought the show back three seasons ago. I have been pleading and screaming for someone to let Hugh Dancy off his leash and so to see Price rip into his boss and finally stand up and say that he just wanted to do his damn job was such a rewarding moment. Both in terms of what Price deserves as a character and what Dancy can do as an actor. Bravo. Now don’t forget this next week.
Ashley W.: I know sports aren’t the most popular subject here, but Angel Reese absolutely deserves some love this week! A rookie for the WNBA’s Chicago Sky whose popularity grew during her time on the Louisiana State University women’s basketball team, Reese celebrated her 22nd birthday by, first, attending practice in Chicago and, later, going to New York for her first Met Gala. Now that’s the definition of badass.
Ashley T.: I’m handing it to both President T’Rina and Commander Rayner in Star Trek: Discovery 5×07 “Erigah.” T’Rina is an absolute badass in her political maneuvering with the Breen. Rayner took control of his past history with the Breen and used it to his advantage, which is a triumph over his trauma. That is badass if I ever heard it. Amazing job.
