Every been on an interview and you randomly tell an actor that his character was the absolute worst? No? Just me?
I can’t help it. If you’ve seem Prom Dates, you know that Jordan Buhat’s character of Luca is the worst. But it’s part of what makes the movie feels realistic and relatable. Sometimes, especially in high school, the person you are dating is the absolute worst.
And in Prom Date, Luca may be the worst, well Buhat will make you think about your opinion of him. He said, “On paper, I look at Luca, and he’s the worst. I sometimes just want to lean right into that, but there’s a reason that Jess was with him in the first place besides just wanting to go to prom with someone, so it was interesting to figure out the chemistry that Jess and Luca would have together, finding that sweetness that he could have.”
The character that is the cringiest and the sweetest is Greg, who is madly in love with Hannah.

“Greg loves love. Because that’s similar to me.” Kenny Ridwan had to say about Greg, who he plays in the movie.
We love, love too.
Prom Dates is about, “Jess and Hannah, at 13 years old made a pact to have the perfect prom, only 24 hours before the big event, everything is ruined when they break up with their dates. Now they have one night to find new dates and make the fantasy comes true.”
Prom Dates has the smartness of Booksmart and Bottoms, with the nostalgia of John Hughes movies of old.
