What Glen Powell does, I will watch. It doesn’t matter what it is. Ok, well it does matter what it is because if it’s a horror movie, hard pass. This writer likes not having nightmares.
cWhen growing up, I remember watching the 1978 movie, Heaven Can Wait. My mother was a fan of Warren Beatty and exposed us to almost every movie that Beatty had made. While it wasn’t my favorite thing to do, I can now appreciate it.
I can also appreciate that Powell is working on a reimagining of the Oscar nominated movie for Paramount.
Oscar winning writer, Stephen Gaghan (for his script for Steven Soderbergh’s 2000 crime film Traffic) is writing the project for Powell to star. Now I haven’t watched Traffic, but Oscar winning makes me pay attention.
The original film stars Beatty as a football player whose life is ended prematurely by an angel. His soul is sent back to earth in the body of a recently murdered millionaire.
Look, I am not sure of what will happen with the film and what its premise will be. The premise has been done a few times over the years, but no one has ever done it as well, as Heaven Can Wait.
I can’t wait to see a remake that involves Powell. That is exciting for me.
