Are you tired of the Targaryens yet? Because more are coming! That’s right, HBO has announced that another prequel to Game of Thrones, and technically a sequel to House of the Dragon, a Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, has now started production. But what is it about?
Here’s everything we know about the show:
Logline: A century before the events of “Game of Thrones,” two unlikely heroes wandered Westeros… a young, naïve but courageous knight, Ser Duncan the Tall, and his diminutive squire, Egg. Set in an age when the Targaryen line still holds the Iron Throne, and the memory of the last dragon has not yet passed from living memory, great destinies, powerful foes, and dangerous exploits all await these improbable and incomparable friends.
Peter Claffey and Dexter Sol Ansell are set to star in the show as the two main characters. Claffey will play the role of Dunk and Ansell will play Egg. The show is based on Tales of Dunk and Egg, a series of fantasy novellas by George R. R. Martin.
Also starring are Finn Bennett as Aerion Targaryen, Bertie Carvel as Baelor Targaryen, Tanzyn Crawford as Tanselle, Daniel Ings as Ser Lyonel Baratheon, and Sam Spruell as Maekar Targaryen.
Owen Harris will direct three episodes, while Sarah Adina Smith will direct the other three.
No release date has yet been announced, though the show is expected to premiere in 2025.
