We watch a lot of TV and movies! And we listen to a lot of music, podcasts, audiobooks…so yeah, we’re fangirling over a lot of things! Each week we come together to highlight all the feels they give us throughout the week. On these Fangirlish Feels of the Week, there are five categories and many thoughts! Ready?
Here we go!
What You’re Fangirling Over This Week

Rachel: This Week, I’ve been fangirling over two things. This week’s episode of The Acolyte because of the sex appeal in a story about temptation to the Dark Side. And I finally got to start watching My Lady Jane and the hype for that one us EARNED.
Ashley T.: I’m going to be fangirling over how good Star Trek: Prodigy season 2 is for the next little bit. This season is pure gold. I’m so grateful that Netflix picked it up! If you’ve not seen it yet, go fast over to Netflix and enjoy! you can thank me later.
Ashley W.: The U.S. Olympics women’s artistics gymnastics team being made up of mostly returning athletes who competed at the 2020 Games and are all in their 20s is incredible! It’s amazing and so encouraging to see elite gymnasts break the norm and continue the sport past their teenage years—and still be among the best in the world.
Also, shoutout to Hezly Rivera for also making the team! How cool is it for her to follow in the footsteps of 2012 Olympian Kyla Ross and 2016 Olympian Laurie Hernandez as artistic gymnasts who made the Olympic team in their first year as a senior?!
WTF Moment of the Week

Raquel: Rhaenyra infiltrating King’s Landing just to talk to Alicent in House of the Dragon 2×03. A stupid move that put her in danger for no reason, it’s too late to turn back and this was just delaying the inevitable.
Ashley T.: *gestures wildly at the U. S. government.* Go vote in every single election in your area, local and national. If you’re not registered, you can get more information on how to register in your area here.
Jasmine: General Hospital‘s handling of Blazes coming out story has been a hot mess. Having Ava release the recording of her mother Natalia’s homophobic diatribe to the masses only for her to ultimately be the one Sonny decides to go after is insane.
Was it wrong of Ava? Absolutely because people should be able to come out when they are ready. Then there is the fallout after the reveal. Blaze being dropped by her record label is just… There are no words to describe what a bad move this was.
What We’re Listening to This Week

Ashley T.: It was a Florence + the Machine kind of week. Queen Flo is always a good choice.
Ashley W.: Seeing as I was just in New York for a week and saw a Broadway show just about every day I was there, I’ve been rotating through a selection of original Broadway cast albums: The Heart of Rock and Roll, The Great Gatsby, The Outsiders and The Notebook.
With the exceptions of The Heart of Rock and Roll and The Great Gatsby, I’d been waiting until I saw the latter two shows to listen to their cast recordings. So it’s nice to listen through them and hear them outside of experiencing them as part of the show. But also, I’m so glad Broadway cast albums exist so that people can (re)live the show in a more accessible way.
Jasmine: I will remain in my PVRIS bubble till further notice as I prepare for their concert next week. 😁
What We Rewatched This Week

Rachel: I rewatched 1959’s Pillow Talk this week because another romance set in the same general time period, Fly Me To The Moon, is coming to theaters next week. Doris Day and Rock Hudson set a high bar for fun. I hope the new film lives up to it.
Ashley T.: It was actually a fairly heavy rewatch week for me. Obviously, Star Trek: Prodigy, but also, Mr. Nerdy Blogger and I started rewatching Brooklyn Nine-Nine. It had been so long since I’d seen the first season, there are many things I simply didn’t remember, so it’s been like watching it for the first time. It’s loads of fun and still very funny on rewatch.
Ashley W.: I know that too often my answer for this is Captain America: The First Avenger, but what kind of Cap fan would I be if I didn’t rewatch it on Steve Rogers’s birthday? It is a national holiday after all!
Jasmine: I know this doesn’t really count as a rewatch, but I’m back to watching more of Orange is the New Black. I’m on season six. I paused for a bit because this is one of those shows I have to mentally prepare for because it’s so doom and gloom and sad. Plus the violent acts towards the female inmates from either each other, or the guards can be hard to stomach. I’m gonna finish it though because I have to find out how this whole series ends.
Badass Character of the Week

Rachel: Lady Jane Grey of My Lady Jane. PERIOD.
Ashley T.: It’s got to be our young crew in Star Trek: Prodigy. They all grow in good and important ways in season 2, and they certainly pull off many feats of badassery. Give it a watch on Netflix.
Ashley W.: I also rewatched Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. episode 7×06: “Adapt or Die” in honor of its four-year anniversary, and anyone who has seen that episode knows that it’s just another example of what makes Daisy Johnson a badass. It’s no wonder Daniel Sousa falls for her! (But also, she deserves to be cared for, and I wish she didn’t have to go through crap to show just how much of a badass she is.)
