The world is full of bad news, and we’re here to complain about more…because Suits: LA is officially a go. Not only has NBC picked the series up, but they’re still really sticking with That Man. You know, the one who took us from “we might give this a chance” to “absolutely the f*ck not. Not on your life. No.” That one. And folks are rushing to say Suits itself is “back,” which is a thing that (apparently) started a few months back with the official SuitsPeacock account on Twitter. (No, I’m not calling it “X.”)
But no, Pearson Specter Litt (and its 9283743 other names) is not “back.” We have a thing that’s piggybacking off its name. Nothing more, probably plenty less. Yay for That Man’s fans, we guess? But…this is very much, always and forever, a giant no from us. For what it’s worth, we aren’t the only ones who are like WTF about it either. Not about That Man and not about this whole “spinoff” as a whole.
Good question:
Just to repeat: Suits is not back. We repeat: A cheap knockoff, either of the series or of The Harvey Specter, isn’t the real deal. Please BFFR already…
And no, we simply are not interested.
Imagine if, instead of continuing to help That Man fail up, the people making the big decisions had this kind of taste and vision:
At this point, you might be like, “but don’t you have anything new to say about this? You’ve already complained a lot, and most of this is just copying other people’s reactions.” To which we would reply…no. We don’t have anything of value to add to the conversation. Kinda like how That Man never has anything of value to add to anything he does. And kinda like how there’s nothing original or new about this entire Suits: LA mishegas anyway.
So, in conclusion:
