You know, we don’t take saying that we’d wait in line at San Diego Comic Con willingly very lightly, but when it comes to Percy Jackson & The Olympians, we’re willing. It’s one of our favorite shows on streaming and well, one of our favorite book series ever.
One of our favorite character in the series is Tyson. He’s a lovable, charming cyclops, who is Percy Jackson’s half brother. Turns out that Poseidon has more than one son. Who knew? Well, you know we did – cause read the books.
At SDCC, via video, Rick Riordan shared the news via a video message, “Daniel Diemer’s enthusiasm and talent brings a whole new dimension to Tyson, and it’s going to be incredible to see him in the second season. I can’t wait for you guys to meet him and welcome him to the Percy Jackson universe.”
Daniel Diemer, NGL, we had to google who you were and we’d like to apologize for not knowing. There’s no pressure, but Tyson is a fan favorite, so we’re gonna be expecting a lot. We know that some of the characters have a strong distrust of a cyclops, but we believe that you’ll win them over. Why? Well, I mean if we’re being honest, if you’re in the show we know that boss lady Ellen Goldsmith Vein trusts you and boss man and creator Rick Riordan trusts you.
And that means something to us.
Also at San Diego Comic Con in a video message, Diemer said, “I’m thrilled and honored to step into the extraordinary universe of Percy Jackson & the Olympians. Now, I’ve been a fan of the books since I was 10 years old, and it’s a dream come true to be a part of this and embark on such an exciting adventure with such talented cast and crew and, of course, passionate fans. I can’t wait to bring Tyson to life and to share his journey with you all.”
We’re so excited for this! Percy Jackson & The Olympians stars Walker Scobell, Aryan Simhadri, Virginia Kull, Adam Copeland, and Leah Sava Jeffries.
