NCIS: Origins Season 1 Episode 1 ‘Enter Sandman’ and Season 1, Episode 2 ‘Enter Sandman, Part 2’ introduce us to not just Gibbs, but a young version of Gibbs. The first version of Gibbs, if you will. And this version is not played by Mark Harmon, it’s played by Austin Stowell. Harmon, however, is present in this prequel of NCIS, as a narrator.
The show, which is set in 1991, right as Gibbs starts his career as a NIS agent on the heels of the murder of his wife and daughter, will follow the iconic character as he becomes the man we will one day meet. What made Gibbs the man we know and love? Well, that’s what we hope to find out.
Here’s what we know about the first episode of the show:

I’ll admit, when I think of this show, I instantly think: ‘This will open the door to more more prequels down the road, including for 1 about Hetty!’. But I’ll also say this show looks terrific!
