Two CBS franchises are coming together for a new limited series. NCIS and 48 Hours are joining forces for a one-in-a-kind podcast, hosted by The Talk and CBS News’ Natalie Morales. The podcast is set to premiere on October 29th.
48 Hours: NCIS is set to explore real-life cases NCIS agents have carried with them, starting with the case of Marine wife Erin Corwin. Corwin was just 19 years old when she disappeared in California’s Joshua Tree National Park. Almost two months later her body was found in an abandoned mine, and a fellow Marine quickly became a suspect.
The six-episode season of 48 Hours: NCIS is set to focus on Corwin’s case.
“Growing up in a military family, I am honored to be able to tell the stories of those who have and continue to serve our country, and to offer unique insights into the inner workings of the NCIS as they help solve cases,” Morales said. “Erin Corwin’s story as a newly pregnant, young military wife is especially heartbreaking. It took the dedication of many NCIS agents to help find her in difficult desert conditions and to solve the mystery of how she died and who was responsible.”
