When I love a television show, it is definitely very hard for me to review. However, when it comes to Found it is definitely something that I enjoy reviewing. I enjoy it because it is so good and keeps me on my toes.
I had to wonder at a certain point how they would maintain this show, but I’d like to publicly apologize for that. The truth is that Found keeps me on my toes, episode after episode.
This episode had my jaw on the floor and me wondering what the eff could happen next.
And I had no idea.
But I will say that as an avid watched of FOUND, I will say this was the best episode of the series so far. I am so in awe of how this show manages to twist and turn and keep you wondering what could happen.
And you never know what could happen.

WAIT WHY DID YOU START LIKE THAT
When Found opens with a press conference, you know that something big is going to happen. Seeing Trent with a black eye, Gabi and Sir, and Margaret asking if she was still alive – I could feel my heart start to speed up. Is Lacey dead? I don’t think that the team could ever recover from that.
My heart was in my chest.
The team’s focus should be on Lacey, but Gabi knows that they need to get Sir interested and engaged. So when they have a case of a woman engaged to a convicted felon, Gabi knows that it will bring Sir out. So she wants to take the case – even if the team doesn’t agree.
There has been no secret that this season, Margaret has not been my favorite person. I get it though, I get she’s angry. I get she feels betrayed because I would be too.
The person I am surprised that I found sympathy for was Christian Evans. We all know that Sir is absolutely horrible and the worst, but the way that he takes his brother to task made me feel horrible for Christian. He’s there to want to help – which yes I am shocked by – but when he comes face to face with his brother, that’s what I didn’t expect.
Sir tells him that he’s blood, but Gabi is his family. Telling his brother to leave and making him afraid that there is a bomb in his car? I will be apologizing to my siblings forever saying that they were the absolute worst in a fight.
But it’s when he goes to the team and tells them what has happened and they have to tell Christian the truth about his brother – that he murdered their mother… wow. My heart broke for him.
He thought that his brother had tried to save them, but finding out that his brother had killed his Mom was too much for him. It broke my heart.

TRENT AND GABI
Gabi goes to Trent to work on the Betty case. I think that it has to be hard for Gabi and Trent to see each other. I know that this is a show where we’re talking about finding people, but I will also say that I have developed a ship. One that I LOVE. I know that the two are on the outs right now and I respect the reason why.
BUT the thing is there was a real connection between the two. I understand why it is that Gabi didn’t tell Trent and I also understand his hurt and frustration around it.
As the two move forward in the Betty case, I love seeing the two start to remember what they know about each other – that they are ultimately good people. I think what Gabi says – that people shouldn’t be defined by their worst mistakes is valid.
Do I think that either one of them has been honest? No. But I do get why it is that Trent wants to know why she didn’t just trust him enough to tell him. What could she have said though? To him, it’s so black and white, but to her, it’s not even close. If she would have told Trent, she still would have been in a lot of trouble!
I am not excusing what she did or anything she’s done really. But I do believe that she wasn’t in her right mind when she did the things that she did. I think that for her, she wanted someone to feel that pain that she felt.
But here’s the thing about pain – no one is ever going to feel it the same way that you do. In order to get through pain, you have to face it head-on. Gabi hasn’t ever faced her pain head-on – she’s just dealt with it by compressing it. Compressing her feelings has meant that she’s only dealt with it on a service level.
She needs to let people in, but that’s something that she hasn’t ever wanted to do completely. I think that her relationship with Trent was the first time that she got close to even doing that and it terrified her.
Gabi and Lacey have been through a lot and it doesn’t matter how much older they get – trauma stays. I do also understand that has them bonded for life. I truly think that yes, Trent wanting to help her find Lacey is because it’s part of his job, but it’s also part of him to want to make sure that Gabi is okay.
He doesn’t want her in pain but also doesn’t know how to live with the way she plays fast and loose with life. The rules still apply even if she doesn’t think that it does.

THE CASE
Part of the reason that Gabi wanted to take on the case was to draw out Sir. It was kind of really entertaining to see his anxiety. I had to laugh because Sir, you’re horrible.
When Gabi decided to faint at the press conference, knowing it would drive Sir insane, I applauded. I applauded because it was about time she tried to play him too. I did also think that she fainted, but she didn’t. She orchestrated the entire thing, to make Sir call her.
And eventually, he does.
The thing is that Sir doesn’t like what she asks for – information on Lacey. He’s not going to give Gabi that. He wants her to find a need in only him and it’s so disgusting.
Do they find Betty? Yes. But the bigger situation – finding Lacey.
Sir is leaving clues. His addiction to Gabi is so weird and demented. Gabi though, she’s not going to back down. When the team finds Sir bought a bunch of books and is trying to figure out the clues – that’s when everything starts to go differently.
Gabi is following his clues and with the books that he bought, she realizes that the only way that this is going to end is if she gives herself to Sir willingly. So Gabi leads the team astray so that she can make them safe.
You see, Gabi wants nothing more than for Zeke, Lacey, Dhan, and Margaret – hell, even Trent to be okay. She knows that as long as she doesn’t go with Sir and keeps fighting him on things, they are not going to be okay. So she goes to where she knows Sir and Lacey are.
Lacey’s childhood home.

I have to admit that I didn’t see what was going to happen – finding Lacey and then Sir saying that Gabi has to go willingly. She was willing to. She was willing to go wherever with him because it would keep them safe.
But what happens next is what I didn’t expect.
Lacey regains consciousness and stabs Sir. She’s ready to kill him, but Gabi stops her because she doesn’t want Lacey to lose herself. I don’t think that Lacey would have. I think it would have given her closure, but I get the sentiment of Gabi wanting to protect her.
I just was also impressed that Sir was able to get up and get out of there before getting caught. Gabi was able to get an ambulance. She was able to get Lacey’s help and to the hospital.
But that press conference from the beginning? The one where Trent was talking. Lacey isn’t dead, but they don’t know if she’s going to make it. She’s in critical condition.
Fight Lacey. Please fight.

OTHER THOUGHTS
- I hate that I have a ship, but the ship chooses you – Trent and Gabi, I love you
- Lacey has strength that I never thought she could have but I love it for her so much
- Lacey is the strongest person
- Dhan is my favorite
- The team wanting to not be at each other’s throats, but being at each other’s throats… like get over it, people. Gabi made mistakes. Let’s move on.
I think I can speak for us all when I say – THIS sh!t AIN’T OVER
Gabi just said the one word that Sir has been wanting Gabi to say for 20 years: YES
Sir himself admits to what we the audience has watched since this show has started, that Gabi didn’t just lay down and die. She fought for herself the second she realized that Sir wasn’t going to let her leave that farmhouse.
She fought against changing her name, reading the scripts, fought to call her dad, tried to see the good in Sir and let him know that despite what he was doing to her, that there was still good in him.
Everything that Sir tried to do for Gabi she fought against, she held on hard to remain her own person despite knowing what Sir was trying to do.
Now this time around, Sir wants to give Gabi a choice – her choice to willingly come with him. No threats, no manipulation, or force. Just Gabi freely giving herself to him and saying yes.
Again, all of those negative forces are still in play considering that her (possibly close to death) sister is bloody, motionless, and on the floor, but because Sir loathes Lacey, and does not see her as someone useful, and who is (over everything and everyone) not Gabi, he believes that Gabi is FINALLY giving herself over to him.
So, yeah buckle up, ain’t no way Sir is going away now. We got 19 more episodes; trust Gabi will be back in Sir’s orbit at some point.
I am so glad I found this site. There is nothing I love more than reading a recap done by someone who actually enjoys the show they are watching.
Last season I was not shipping anyone, but this season, I am #TeamTrentandGabi.
Sir’s sick obsession with Gabi continues to amaze me. His refusal to live on and even find and existence outside of her continues to be mind-numbing. Whatever fantasy he has created surrounding his “relationship with Gabrielle” is truly a thing to behold. Like Erin, I was initially leery because I could not see this show lasting more than a season or two, but as things stand now, if the writing and acting keeps being on this level, it could last quite a few years.
