Here we go again – someone sitting somewhere behind a screen talking sh**. And yes, I realize that I am saying as I sit here and start typing about people needing to leave Selena Gomez and her body alone.
We need to leave all bodies alone.
The star has been making the rounds doing press and appearances for Emilia Perez. Recently at the Los Angeles premiere of the movie, Gomez took a lot of pictures with her hand covering her stomach. Of course, a lot of people took to the internet and spoke about her body, and internet users decided that she was trying to hide her body.
The post has now been deleted – the one that Gomez commented back on. According to Page Six, she had written, “This makes me sick. I have SEBO in my small intestine. It flares up.”
She continued, “I don’t care that I don’t look like a stick figure.”
And then finished off, “I don’t have that body. End of story. No I am NOT a victim. I’m just human.”
Again, Gomez has been left to explain things that she didn’t have to explain to anyone. It’s none of our business.
If you aren’t familiar with SEBO, according to the Mayo Clinic, it is, “Small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) occurs when there is an abnormal increase in the overall bacterial population in the small intestine — particularly types of bacteria not commonly found in that part of the digestive tract.”
SIBO can cause abdominal fullness, abdominal pain, bloating, pain and cramps. We’re thankful that Gomez even got up and went to the premiere. This writer, having had SIBO, knows how painful it can be.
We’re sending healing thoughts to Selena. We’re also sending a reminder for us all to be kind and keep body comments to ourselves.
