What Feels Right on The Rookie Season 7 Episode 5 ‘Til Death’

The Rookie Season 7 Episode 5 ‘Til Death’ surprised us with the whole Bailey and Jason thing — which, by the way, was about time the show took the time to develop this storyline. And we want to make one thing clear: Bailey did what she had to do to protect herself. Truth is, we thought this cat-and-mouse game was going to last longer, so Bailey would end up regretting what she was doing, that hasn’t been the case. But we don’t feel any pity for Jason or mourn his death. He made his bed and laid down in it. What’s more, we’re glad he’s dead and Bailey can finally feel safe.
What Bailey did in The Rookie Season 7 Episode 5 ‘Til Death’ wasn’t the right thing to do, but it was human. Because she did the only thing she felt she could do to be safe. What was Bailey guaranteed that Jason wouldn’t escape again? Clearly, he wasn’t going to let it go and he would go back to jail with only one goal: escape again, go after her, and this time not fail. We mean, the smartest thing for him would have been to get out of LA as soon as possible, but he didn’t do it just to go after Bailey. A guy like that wouldn’t have rested until he achieved his goal. And Bailey might not have been able to get rid of him then.
So, since the police failed to find Jason and make her feel safe again, Bailey took matters into her own hands and did what she felt was best to protect herself. Bailey didn’t feel like there was any other option. And we would have all done the same thing. Now, all we are worried about is the consequences this could have for her. We don’t think Nolan will tell on her but this puts him in a compromising and awkward position that will surely cause problems between them. Plus, this guy might blackmail her with all this…

Trust is the Key for Chenford

Elsewhere, Chenford continues to win us over in The Rookie Season 7 Episode 5 ‘Til Death.’ Lucy trusts Tim again to tell him her doubts about Seth. And we love the way Tim trusts her to solve this. It’s bad that Seth is a compulsive liar because it could affect work and Tim is clear about what he would do but he trusts Lucy to handle this in her own way. Tim knows she will make the right decision.
And Lucy does. She knows that Seth should leave the program because no matter what he says or does, she can never be sure whether to believe him or not. After all, he already promised not to lie again and he did, what would stop him from repeating that pattern? Lucy can’t trust him and without trust there is nothing. Again, Lucy seeks out Tim to tell him, to be honest with him. Lucy isn’t looking for his approval but Tim still wants to let her know that he also thinks that this is the right decision, he knows that she will figure it out.
However, when everything seemed clear in The Rookie Season 7 Episode 5 ‘Til Death,’ Seth’s cancer has returned and Lucy doesn’t have the heart to kick him out of the program, being compromised by telling Seth that she still wants him as her student. And the timing seems really suspicious to us, is Seth going to lie about his cancer when he sees himself on the tightrope? Our money is on yes.
