Netflix continues its commitment to comedy with The Four Seasons, a series based on the 1981 film of the same name directed by Alan Alda. This new eight-episode adaptation, coming soon to our screens, is a contemporary look at friendship, love, and the challenges of growing up (and growing old) together.
The Four Seasons revolves around three couples of longtime friends who maintain a very particular tradition: taking trips together each season. Their seemingly solid dynamic is shaken when one of the couples separates, triggering simmering tensions and conflicts among them all. Throughout the four trips—summer, fall, winter, and spring—the characters must face their own personal and marital crises while trying to maintain the bonds that unite them.
The cast is led by great comedy figures. Tina Fey plays Kate, while Steve Carell plays her fictional husband, Nick. Rounding out the cast are Colman Domingo as Danny, Will Forte as Jack, Kerri Kenney-Silver as Anne, and Marco Calvani as Claude. As a special nod to the original film, Alan Alda, who starred in and directed the 1981 film, will make a guest appearance in the series.
The creative team behind The Four Seasons is equally promising. Tina Fey joins Lang Fisher and Tracey Wigfield as co-creators and writers. They also serve as executive producers alongside David Miner, Eric Gurian, and Jeff Richmond. The series was filmed in New York City during the second half of 2024, taking advantage of the different seasons to visually reinforce the theme of the passage of time and the evolution of relationships.

The Plot:
The official synopsis for The Four Seasons is: “Six old friends head for a relaxing weekend away only to learn that one couple in the group is about to split up.
