Here we go!
A Camp Mystery
The show is a modern reimagining of the iconic group of teenage detectives and their inseparable dog. And we have an idea of five things we want to happen in this Scooby-Doo live-action series. The story takes place during their last summer at camp, where Shaggy and Daphne find themselves embroiled in a supernatural mystery involving a missing Great Dane puppy. As they delve deeper into the mystery, they are joined by Velma, a pragmatic young scientist from town, and Freddy, the attractive and enigmatic new kid. Together, they will try to solve the case that threatens to reveal their own darkest secrets.
The show, still untitled, has a top-notch behind-the-scenes team. Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg (Midnight Radio) will serve as showrunners, writers, and executive producers. Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and Leigh London Redman (Berlanti Productions, in association with Warner Bros. Television), and André Nemec and Jeff Pinkner (Midnight Radio) will also serve as executive producers.
Since its debut more than half a century ago, Scooby-Doo has become a cultural phenomenon with three feature films, more than a dozen animated series, and nearly 40 animated home movies. Netflix, with its experience expanding franchises, is looking to continue this success.
The series doesn’t yet have an official release date or title. However, it already promises to be an exciting adventure that combines mystery, humor, and a supernatural touch. So we can expect it to remain faithful to the spirit of the series that kept us awake at night as kids.
Scooby-Doo live-action series will premiere soon on Netflix.
