AMC and AMC+ have unveiled an exciting first teaser and official first-look images for Nautilus, their upcoming adventure series inspired by Jules Verne’s legendary novel Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea. And we’re excited for this one since AMC Networks announced it! The 10-episode drama will premiere with a special two-episode debut on Sunday, June 29 at 9 p.m. ET/PT, followed by weekly episodes each Sunday, leading up to a two-part season finale on August 17.
The series stars Shazad Latif — known for Black Mirror — as the iconic Captain Nemo, reimagined as an Indian prince who was stripped of his birthright and imprisoned by the ruthless East India Mercantile Company. But Nemo refuses to accept defeat: he steals a prototype submarine from the penal colony where he’s held and escapes into the ocean with a crew of fellow prisoners, determined to seek vengeance on those who wronged him.
Joining Latif are Georgia Flood as Humility Lucas, Céline Menville — known for Emily in Paris — as Loti, and Thierry Fremont (Liaison) as Benoit. The series also features guest appearances from Oscar® nominee Richard E. Grant, Anna Torv, and Noah Taylor. The series is developed and produced by Xavier Marchand of Moonriver TV and Anand Tucker of Seven Stories. It is written and executive produced by James Dormer, with Johanna Devereaux, Chris Loveall, Colleen Woodcock, and Daisy Gilbert also serving as executive producers. Cameron Welsh is the series producer and Michael Matthews leads the directing team.
