Wednesday will return with its highly anticipated second season on Netflix, and we can’t wait to return to the world of Nevermore, its sinister mysteries, and of course… the unmistakable Addams Family. If the first season only gave us a glimpse into this peculiar clan, Wednesday Season 2 promises to give us more time with each of its members. So, to prepare, we’re telling you who’s who in the iconic family, and what we can expect from them this time around.
Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega)

Our protagonist. The queen of sarcasm, lover of the dark, and virtuoso cello player, Jenna Ortega redefined Wednesday for a new generation with a subtle yet fierce performance. This season, we’ll see Wednesday deeper into the secrets of Nevermore and likely facing even more personal dilemmas. Heart or logic? Family or independence? Wednesday will remain Wednesday… but all signs point to evolving this time.
Morticia Addams (Catherine Zeta-Jones)

The elegant and lethal matriarch. Morticia is as mysterious as she is charming. While her relationship with Wednesday was somewhat strained in the first season, everything indicates we’ll see more of that mother-daughter dynamic in the new episodes. Will they connect more deeply or continue to clash over their very different ways of facing the world? We don’t know, but we do know that Zeta-Jones brings a gothic presence that we can’t stop watching.
Gomez Addams (Luis Guzmán)

The passionate father who loves his wife madly and supports his daughter, even when he doesn’t fully understand what she’s going through. Gomez was a supporting figure in the first season, but with the expanded focus on family, his past—and his love for Morticia—could return to the forefront in Wednesday Season 2. His eccentric charisma is the warm heart amidst so much darkness.
Pugsley Addams (Isaac Ordonez)

The younger brother who barely had any screen time in the first season, but whose relationship with Wednesday is anything but typical. In the classic version, Pugsley is a frequent victim of his sister’s experiments, but also one of her favorite accomplices. Will we get more moments between the brothers this time around? We hope so. It would be great to see their bond grow in Wednesday Season 2 as they both navigate the oddities of the Addams world.

Grandmama Hester Frump (Joanna Lumley)

Get ready to meet the matriarch of matriarchs! Hester Frump, mother to Morticia and grandmother to Wednesday, arrives to turn things upside down. Fabulously wealthy, controlling, and with a sarcasm as sharp as her heels, Hester runs Frump Mortuaries, one of the most successful non-standard businesses in the world.
But what really excites us is her dynamic with Wednesday. According to the creators, Hester and Wednesday understand each other perfectly. In fact, Wednesday probably prefers her over her own mother. This triangle between Hester, Morticia, and Wednesday promises family drama at its most deliciously sinister.
Lurch (Joonas Suotamo)

The world’s most loyal chauffeur returns… and this time with a face familiar to Star Wars fans (yes, Suotamo played Chewbacca). Lurch remains the silent giant of few words, but his loyalty to the Addams family knows no bounds. Don’t underestimate him: behind that expressionless face, there’s more than meets the eye.
Uncle Fester (Fred Armisen)

Uncle Fester returns with more screen time—thanks, Netflix!—and with new opportunities to put his powers (and his instability) to work for Wednesday. He’s one of the few adults she truly trusts. And, according to Fred Armisen, in Wednesday Season 2 we’ll see him risking everything to help his niece. Just… keep him away from the banks.
Thing (Victor Dorobantu)

Yes, the hand that steals every scene. Literally. Thing is more than a servant: Thing is a loyal friend, an efficient spy, and the best emotional support without needing to say a single word. Confirmed to return (thank goodness!), Thing will likely remain Wednesday’s silent but powerful sidekick in all her adventures.
Wednesday Season 2 promises more blood, more secrets, and, above all, more time with the Addams Family. With the arrival of Hester and more scenes with Fester and Lurch, this is the expansion we have been waiting for from minute one. It’s no longer just Wednesday’s story: it’s the story of his entire family. And that means chaos… of the best kind.
Wednesday Season 2 Part 1 will premiere on August 6 only on Netflix.
