It’s spooky, it’s kooky, and it’s finally coming back. After becoming Netflix’s second most-watched English-language series ever, Wednesday is returning for Season 2—and we’re dying to see what’s next for everyone’s favorite Addams teen. The show blended gothic charm with teen drama, a murder mystery, and just the right touch of humor. And while Season 1 left us with plenty of questions, Season 2 promises even more chaos, new characters, and—yes—more Nevermore Academy. What Wednesday Season 2 is About?
Wednesday returns to Nevermore Academy as something of a hero, but her psychic visions soon lead her down a darker path. This time, she sees a disturbing vision and becomes obsessed with stopping it. Even if it means putting her own life on the line. Wednesday Season 2 unfolds like a chilling puzzle of secrets, murders, and supernatural tension, all wrapped in the dark humor that has become the show’s signature.
The core cast is mostly back: Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams, Emma Myers as Enid, Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia, Luis Guzmán as Gomez, Isaac Ordoñez as Pugsley, plus Joy Sunday, Billie Piper, Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo, Moosa Mostafa, Georgie Farmer, Victor Dorobantu, Evie Templeton, Owen Painter, Noah B. Taylor, and Hunter Doohan.
Joining the ensemble are exciting new faces, including Steve Buscemi as Nevermore’s new principal and Lady Gaga in a special appearance as eccentric professor Rosaline Rotwood. Other notable guest stars include Haley Joel Osment, Joanna Lumley as Grandmama, Christopher Lloyd, the iconic Uncle Fester from the classic Addams Family films, Joonas Suotamo, Fred Armisen, Thandiwe Newton, and Heather Matarazzo.
Filming took place in Ireland between May and December 2024, with Tim Burton once again directing key episodes. Angela Robinson and Paco Cabezas also joins the directing team, and the visual style will remain as gothic and stylized as ever. Wednesday Season 2 will explore more of the Addams family’s legacy and expand the eerie world of Nevermore.
With creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar at the helm, Wednesday Season 2 seems to be setting the stage for something even more ambitious. With new villains, deeper character arcs, and higher emotional stakes, this new season isn’t just aiming to live up to the hype—it’s ready to surpass it.
