There will be another round of golf and life lessons with the Stick gang! The freshman sports comedy series has been renewed for a second season on Apple TV+. Owen Wilson, who stars in the titular role and executive produces, is set to return as Pryce “Stick” Cahill. He will be joined by Stick’s returning ensemble, including Peter Dager, Marc Maron, Mariana Treviño, and Lilli Kay.
“I think we all had a great time making it,” Owen Wilson shared in a statement. “It’s really nice to see the show connecting with people and to know that we get a chance to continue the story!” It’s particularly exciting as this renewal comes on the same day as the show’s Season 1 finale. In which, the characters rally around Dager’s Santi when someone from his past returns while Santi competes in the ReadySafe Invitational final.

Stick, created by showrunner and executive producer Jason Keller, made its three-episode debut on Apple TV+ last month. Keller shared a statement about the show’s renewal that reads as follows:
“I am inspired and humbled by the audience reaction to Stick, and I’m thrilled to be making a second season with this magical cast, led by the incomparable Owen Wilson, and the wonderful creative team at Apple TV+. It’s a joy to be able to continue this story. Most importantly, however, this season two order will provide me with an undeniable excuse to play even more golf. Thank you, Apple TV+.”
The show’s debut season also starred Judy Greer and Timothy Olyphant. It also featured guest appearances from golf superstars such as Collin Morikawa, Keegan Bradley, Max Homa, Wyndham Clark, and more. Additional cameos include broadcasters Jim Nantz and Trevor Immelman, Good Good’s Matt Scharff, Brad Dalke, and Garrett Clark, as well as golf enthusiast Dan Rapaport.

“With the first season of Stick, audiences instantly fell in love with the charming, funny, and heartfelt world that Jason, Owen, and their all-star team created this season. There’s plenty more in the bag for fans of the series, and we’re thrilled they’ll soon have the chance to discover Pryce Cahill’s next chapter,” said Matt Cherniss, head of programming, Apple TV+. The Stick Season 1 finale teases that Pryce’s next chapter will include more of his partnership with Santi and potentially more time swinging golf clubs himself.
The sports comedy’s executive producers include Ben Silverman for Propagate Content, Entertainment 360’s Guymon Casady, as well as Howard T. Owens, Rodney Ferrell, Drew Buckley, Lee Eisenberg, Natalie Sandy, Christopher Moynihan, Bill Callahan, Valerie Faris, Jonathan Dayton, and Jaffar Mahmood. Faris, Dayton, and Mahmood serve as directors, as do David Dobkin, MJ Delaney, and John Hamburg.
