We’re just sitting here and wondering what a sequel to The Social Network would really look like. Maybe for some people it would be exciting. For us, the original was just so good, it should just be left as is.
Yes, we know that there was a lot to come after that ending.
It turns out that Aaron Sorkin has been working on a sequel – one that he’s writing the script for and one that he will also direct. That’s the most redeeming thing about this possibility, as Sorkin is one of the best writers in the game.
So who wants to star?
Well, it turns out that Mikey Madison and Jeremy Allen White would be the names that we all need to concentrate on. They are the first choices for the role. Both are said to be circling the roles.
According to Deadline (well, their inside source), no offers for roles have been made. We know that producers like to package movies and signing these two would really make getting the movie made, and for more A-List actors to sign on, a lot easier. Not to mean that some haven’t already been clamoring – cause you know they are. Yes, we know that Sony is distributing the film, and it’s Aaron Sorkin, so it’s gonna get made.
We’re just saying.
As much as we may not think that some things need a sequel/continuation/remake, it doesn’t mean we won’t watch it. What can we say?
The script is said to be based on the story the The Facebook Files by Jeff Horowitz. The Wall Street Journal published this series of articles in 2021. Those articles shared the inner workings of Facebook, and it wasn’t always nice.
So who would these two play? Well, ideally, White would play Horowitz – the journalist behind the articles. Madison would play the whistleblower behind the series.
You know that with Sorkin writing it, it will be good. Still on the fence about it because some people don’t need their name spoken more. Just saying.
