A new animated series is heading to Netflix just in time for spooky season in the official trailer for Haunted Hotel!
The animated series tells the story of Katherine, a single mother of two struggling to run a hotel. Problem is… the hotel is haunted. And an even bigger problem, the person she’s running it with, her brother, is one of those ghosts. Let’s not forget to that a demon named Abaddon who is trapped in the body of a little boy from the 1700s who is suddenly.
Basically, Katherine is up to her neck trying to balance out a new business, raising her children, and a hotel full of ghosts who have ideas on how to run the business for the Freeling family.
According to Creator Matt Roller, who wrote episodes of Rick & Morty, “I can’t wait for everyone to meet the Freeling family and see how they tackle nightmare guests and ghosts in our beautifully animated hotel. This is a show for fans of comedy, horror, horror comedy, families, hotels, cults, monsters with tentacles, monsters without tentacles, werewolves, and blenders.”
Other Rick & Morty talent joining the series are Dan Harmon and Erica Hayes. Harmon will be an executive producer alongside Chris McKenna, Steve Levy, and Roller. Harmon is one of the creators of Rick & Morty. And Hayes will be Supervising Director for Haunted Hotel. She previously worked in the Art Department for Rick & Morty as a storyboard artist.
Haunted Hotel will have 10 episodes of 30 minutes each. And the main cast consists of Eliza Coupe voicing the mother Katherine, Will Forte voicing the deceased brother Nathan, Skyler Gisondo and Natalie Palamides voicing the siblings Ben and Esther respectively, and Jimmi Simpson will be voicing the trapped demon Abaddon.
Why We’re Watching Haunted Hotel
Even though Haunted Hotel has similar bones to Rick & Morty in its design and humor, we’re excited to watch a family settle down into a new home and make the best of it. To traveling in space or out of this world experiences. If anything, this show reminds us of Ghosts. But this time around there are more possessions, a variety of ghostly and demonic beings, and its animated. Sounds like a win all around.
