Benoit Blanc is back in the official teaser for Netflix’s Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery.
In the 2019 Rian Johnson directed film Knives Out, we were introduced to the “inquisitive and debonair” Detective Benoit Blanc, played by Daniel Craig. He was enlisted with investigating the death of renowned crime novelist Harlan Thrombey. And with a cast that consisted of the likes of Jamie Lee Curtis, Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, and Toni Collette, it was bound to become a Netflix hit.
Three years later in 2022, director Rian Johnson took us back to the world of Denoit Blanc with Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery. That mystery saw Benoit Blanc investigating a death centered around a tech billionaire who invited his friends on a getaway on his private Greek island. Starring the likes of Edward Norton, Janelle Monáe, and Kate Hudson, it also became a Netflix hit.
Now have Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery.
In Wake Up Dead Man Benoit Blanc returns for “his most dangerous case yet.” When priest Jud Duplenticy (Josh O’Connor) is sent to assist Monsignor Wicks (Josh Brolin), not all is well in the pews. And after a sudden and seemingly impossible murder rocks the town, the famous detective is brought on to unravel a mystery that defies all logic.
Just as the cast of Wake Up Dead Man made an appearance at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), we’ve got our first official trailer.
The cast for this third movie is just as stacked as the previous films. You’ve got Glenn Close as devout church lady Martha Delacroix, Kerry Washington as a tightly-wound lawyer named Vera Draven, Esq., Jeremy Renner as the town doctor, Cailee Spaeny as concert cellist Simone Vivane, Andrew Scott as best-selling author Lee Ross and so many more!
