Following the successful debut of Nobody Wants This in September 2024, Netflix quickly confirmed a second season of the romantic comedy series starring Kristen Bell and Adam Brody. The story follows Joanne, an agnostic podcast host, and Noah, a newly single rabbi, as they navigate the challenges of their relationship and their cultural differences.
In Nobody Wants This Season 2 Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan took over the roles of showrunners, replacing Erin Foster and Craig DiGregorio. However, Foster, who based the series on her own love story, will remain involved as an executive producer. Along with her, Kaplan, and Konner, Steven Levitan, Kristen Bell, Sara Foster, Danielle Stokdyk, Jeff Morton, Nora Silver, and Oly Obst are also executive producers.
The show was very well received by critics and audiences in its first season, precisely for its humor and fresh and realistic approach to modern and interfaith relationships, and we are sure that in season 2 there will be more and better!

The Cast
Nobody Wants This Season 2 will see Kristen Bell and Adam Brody return in the lead roles of Joanne and Noah. They are joined by Justine Lupe, Timothy Simons, Stephanie Faracy, Michael Hitchcock, Tovah Feldshuh, Paul Ben-Victor, Emily Arlook, Sherry Cola, Shiloh Berman, and Jackie Tohn, who has been promoted to series regular. New additions to the cast include Leighton Meester who will play Abby, Joanne’s middle school nemesis who is now an Instagram mommy influencer.
Additionally, Miles Fowler joins the cast as Lenny, Noah’s Matzah Ballers teammate who gets set up with Morgan. Alex Karpovsky will play Big Noah, an overly confident rabbi at Noah’s temple. And finally, Arian Moayed will play Dr. Andy, a charming, highly regarded (particularly by himself) psychotherapist who might just be the perfect match for Morgan.

The Plot:
Nobody Wants This Season 2 synopsis is: “First comes love, then comes life. The last time we saw agnostic podcast host Joanne (Kristen Bell) and unconventional (hot) rabbi Noah (Adam Brody), their unmatched chemistry surprised everyone in their lives, including her sister Morgan (Justine Lupe), his brother Sasha (Timothy Simons) and sister-in-law Esther (Jackie Tohn), and even themselves. Their spark proved stronger than all of the obstacles trying to keep them apart. Now, they’re back and fully committed to merging their lives – and loved ones — together. But their differences still exist and can’t be ignored. The challenge now is not just falling in love against all odds, but staying together in spite of them.”
So, as we see, the series is expected to continue exploring the relationship between Joanne and Noah, addressing the personal — like a mother-in-law who hates her — and cultural challenges they face. Additionally, the new season will likely address the friendship between Sasha and Morgan, now that Esther has found out and it hasn’t exactly sat well with her. Creator Erin Foster said the new season will continue to combine humor and emotion, just like the first installment.
