I have to admit that I didn’t see this episode coming, but here it is and I am wanting to applaud the writers on a great hour of television. The show wraps up part of this seasons storyline – but also opens the door to so much more chaos. There is no part of me that doesn’t think that things are about to get more intense.
After all we still have ten episodes to go for tis season of DOC. There is a lot of time left for the chaos that will ensue once everything comes out. There are just still so many secrets and so much that needs to come out. People have to pay for their mistakes and relationships need to be resolved.
Hannah didn’t want to have to go to her hospital – but with her brother in the back of an ambulance they are deciding where Charlie is going. She is terrified on a lot of levels and I think that it’s on more level than just her brother being in danger. There is a lot of trauma in her life and she’s having to face it again.
Hannah and Charlie coming after Amy was misguided. Rather than have conversations with the players, these two have taken revenge into their own hands. What they don’t know is that Amy and Michael are now onto them. They’ve also looped in the board and others at the hospital.
The thing about this hospital is that there are so many people that are bending the truth. HR and Max view this as a possibility to get rid of Amy. They are always trying to save face, but what they are doing is treating her like a criminal. No one is saying that she’s not mean and has a bad attitude. She does. But what she does have is a mind like no one elses and she’s a good doctor.
My biggest shocker is that even Joan is here and defending Amy. I didn’t think that Joan was capable of having a heart. She’s been a less than stellar friend. She’s been cruel and backhanded. She’s been a liar.
But she’s there putting on a brave face and staring Hannah in the face, acting like she’s done nothing. She is doing what a doctor should do – putting their patient first. Jake and Joan are there and their ability to put their patients first is exemplary. Especially when on another floor everything with Amy is happening.
Amy was told to keep things to herself and not talk to Hannah about what was happening. She was told to not talk to anyone, while the hospital conducted an investigation as to what really happened with Amy and Brian Clark.
When your back is up against the wall, anyone would fight like hell to make things right. Amy may not remember anything, but what she knows is that Hannah and Charlie are out for her and she doesn’t know why. What is hard to see is that if all of these people just offered each other the truth it wouldn’t be this hard?
As Charlie gets worse, his Mom shows up. She’s flabbergasted as the witch hunt over her past gets more intense. She may loose her job, her license, and everything that she’s worked for. That feels overwhelming to her, which is totally understandable. She’s already been through enough and having to face possibly loosing everything again.
Flashbacks have always been important with DOC and we do have quite a few here .They are filling in spaces, especially with all the Brian Clark drama. Amy’s been seeing quite a lot of him in her past, but what was it all? Yes, Amy was mean to him and there were witnesses to that – Michael included. They tell the truth, and this really excites Max. But what we are going to learn is that there are many parts to the same story.
Amy wasn’t against Brian – she tried to help him. One big obstacle in her way though was that Richard had seen one of her interactions with Brian and of course he’s out for blood. Westside already believes that Amy is in the wrong and we’re not sure that is wrong or right. She’s wrong for who she was, but no one sees all of the story. Richard though – he is loving the fact he has the opportunity to stick it to Amy.
And that’s just beginning.
When Amy confronts Hannah I stood up and covered my mouth – shocked. She went savage, and confronted her about bringing Katie into it and not caring who heard. Hannah’s Mom is hearing the entire thing and she’s in shock. But I am glad that she heard because then she can set things right. Well, as right as they can be.
Hannah gets taken by the FBI, Charlie is saved and Richard – he’s made it clear he’s coming for Amy. But if you ever questioned if Richard really was a good guy and we just didn’t see it? No, it’s solidified that he’s trash because in a flashback we see that he knew Amy helped Brian. He just didn’t mention that.
