It’s almost time to dive back into the lives of our favorite twenty-somethings in Season 2 of FX’S Adults. And to say we’re excited to see Samir (Malik Elassal), Billie (Lucy Freyer), Anton (Owen Thiele), Paul Baker (Jack Innanen), and Issa (Amita Rao) taking on life in New York City again would be an understatement. It looks like the pressure to grow up will be accompanied by a brewing love triangle between Anton, Issa, and Paul Baker. The group will have to confront their deepest insecurities as they try to pretend everything is alright while struggling in their own ways.
Honestly, it’s exactly the type of mess we signed up for because it’s relatable. It’s really easy to feel insecure about anything and everything as a young person. Plus, Anton is someone who is going to have to fight feelings for someone he shouldn’t fall for. Who hasn’t been there? We know we have.
So, we’re ready to see how they handle hard conversations that need to be had if they want to keep their friendships intact. And how they have fun together because it’s important to see as well. If you asked us, adulting is all about balance, and this group wouldn’t be who they are without some chaos. Here’s everything you need to know about Season 2 of FX’S Adults!

Plot
According to Teen Vogue, Season 2 will cover a lot of ground about what it means to grow as a person. These characters will go through tests that teach them how much work goes into maintaining friendships. Especially when having to decide if being happy is worth hurting others they love. It’ll answer real and raw questions such as: “How do you bicker and get through problems without losing track of why you love each other? When relationships change, how do you still continue to love each other as people?”
Season 2 will begin two months after Paul Baker’s “platonic” marriage to Anton to avoid his deportation. Undeniably, their growing attraction for each other will put a strain on their relationships with Issa. After meeting someone new, Anton’s going to be conflicted as he battles feelings for Paul Baker. Also, Issa will have to acknowledge the hard truth about her best friend and boyfriend. She could be standing in the way of something great between two people she cares about.
Showrunner Ben Kronengold says that Issa will question “how does she get territorial and scrappy and fight for her relationship, but also try to protect her heart?” Jack Innanen adds on to say that Paul Baker is “still realizing how much Anton really means to him and what the relationship with Issa means or doesn’t mean.”
Overall, Billie and Samir will try to avoid the tension of the love triangle by focusing on themselves. Samir’s still going strong with his girlfriend Carly (Rachel Marsh), and we’ll get to see how they manage their relationship. Lastly, Billie will look to continue embracing her wild and messy side when it comes to dating.

The Prequel Episode
‘Marathon Day’ is a special stand-alone prequel episode that’ll be worth watching before Season 2 premieres. At least, if you love these characters as much as we do. The episode will tell the origin story of the day Paul Baker met the friend group.
