Why do we want The Princess Diaries 3? I think that part of that has always had to do with Julie Andrews and Anne Hathaway. The two are the hearts of this franchise, but we all always knew that there would come a point where would come a point where Queen Mia was going to have to stand on her own.
And we’re going to miss Queen Clarisse. Julie Andrews has been doing some press as she wrote a book with her daughter Emma Walton Hamilton.
“We thought the book could be about overcoming shyness and finding your voice, and yet again celebrating the arts as we so often do,” Hamilton said when speaking about the book she wrote with her daughter. “And then it sort of just wrote itself after that!”
The book was released today, August 11th.
While in the interview, she was asked about her role in The Princess Diaries 3.
“I’m not going to be in it. I think the story is slightly different, and I’m not quite sure how they’re dealing with that. But it’s too late for me to do it. I think the story has to continue in Princess Mia. It’s her story. It’s not really mine,” she told Today.
In 2027, Disney will release the definitive Julie Andrews documentary. We’re going to look forward to that for now. Andres will now and forever be an icon.
