With Christmas around the corner, anything that has Christmas in the title, we stop and pay attention. Lisa Jewell’s Audible Original, All She Wants for Christmas, announcement had us paying attention. Yes, in part because of Christmas in the title and in part because of the cast of voices announced to read the audiobook.
Matthew Rhys, Ruth Wilson, Phoebe Dynevor and Harriet Walter have all been announced for the Audible Original.
The author, Jewell said of the announcement, I am giddy with excitement about this production. Not only was All She Wants for Christmas an absolute joy to write, but it has now been transformed by Audible into one of the best audiobook productions I have ever heard, featuring some of the greatest actors currently working. I still can’t quite believe that we asked Ruth, Matthew, Harriet and Phoebe to narrate and that they all said yes! Such a coup! Roll on November 2nd, I can’t wait.”
The synopsis reads, “Fiddy (Matthew Rhys) and Louise Stone (Ruth Wilson) had the perfect marriage, until Louise became a bestselling author and their world was turned upside down. This definitely doesn’t sound like a Christmas story we’re used to.
The Audible original is being released simultaneously in French, Spanish, Italian and German, with local talent narrating. The audible original will be out November 2nd.
