We watch a lot of TV and movies! So yeah, we’re fangirling over a lot of things! Each week we come together to highlight all the feels they give us throughout the week. On these Fangirlish Feels of the Week, there are five categories and many thoughts! Ready?

Best Scene of the Week
Raquel: The moment Maisri speaks to Julia about Claire in Blood of my Blood 2×02. It’s painful, but you can really feel hope blossoming within her, and that helps her keep going.
Jasmine: That twist at the end of Line of Fire Episode 1×01. I did NOT see that coming! I knew something was up with the bromance between Clare’s boyfriend and the overly friendly dude who turned out to be the Hollingsworth family’s “dead” son. I can’t wait to see where we go from here.
Rachel: I have a tie for this one this week. I’m agreeing with Jasmine for one of them. Line of Fire had such a good pilot episode, and that final moment was just the right WTF moment to keep anyone watching. I got the feeling from that scene that the writers have a much bigger storytelling plan in mind than a typical crime-solving procedural.
My other choice is Adam and Olive’s love scene in The Love Hypothesis. Adapting a romance novel is necessarily going to have sexual content and this film perfectly balanced this scene. They made it a bit graphic and intimate without being gratuitous. It was romantic and sexy and quite faithful to the book.
Ship of the Week
Raquel: It’s Brellen for me! As always.
Jasmine: There was something special about watching A Different World and seeing an older yet wiser Dwayne and Whitley navigate parenthood as well as their marital problems. I know I wasn’t even old enough when the series originally released but, in my teen years I watched old episodes and was always rooting for them.
Rachel: Adam and Olive from The Love Hypothesis!!!!! The first (hopefully of many) Ali Hazelwood adaptation had a lot of anticipation to live up to and it delivered! These two are a perfect example of how the fake dating trope can succeed, with all the banter and sexual tension that can come with that. Lili Reinhart and Tom Bateman’s chemistry was perfect. The way they connected and helped each other grow! The demisexual rep! The excellent love scene! The wonderful epilogue! This week is all about Dr. Evil and Dr. Smite for me!
Best Performance of the Week
Raquel: Still in awe with Jeremy Irvine in this Season of STARZ’s Blood of my Blood.
Jasmine: Honestly, every scene with the kids on lock down inside The Pit on A Different World Episode 1×05 was so good. There were so many powerful monologues about the racism Black people continue to face. But I felt every bit of Deborah’s frustration when she said “It is all just so exhausting. We go to their institutions, they punish us. We try to build our own, they destroy it….what is even the point?” Maleah Joi Moon expressed that so well because it came from a real place.
Erin: I would have to go with Anya Banerjee and Molly Parker in this weeks DOC. We’re seeing a lot of their backstory, and that kinda makes me excited. I want to understand why they are enemies and really start to understand if redemption is a possible thing for the both of them.
Moment that Annoyed Us This Week
Raquel: Brian helping Lovat rally the masses for the rebellion in Blood of my Blood 2×02. I loved seeing him as a leader, but I hated that he helped a snake like Lovat in any way. Part of me wanted Brian to let him sink.
Rachel: Lanterns is as good as ever, but this week’s ep did irritate me in a few ways. First, we find out that Hal and Kerry were together during the time jump but we never got to see it! The only hint we got of what their romance was like was a voicemail Hal left Kerry about calling her “buttercup.” That’s such crap! I wanted to see them together, at least for a scene or two!
Given that his death was revealed in the first ep, I thought they didn’t get together at all. More importantly, John’s problematic family dynamics came to the fore. Now, it’s more than his parents’ questionable actions. His brothers treated him terribly, too. Plus, he gets beat up by group of anti-Lantern thugs, AND a teen girl tries to blackmail him for reparations for the alien fight 10 years ago? Too much BS heaped on John Stewart this episode.
