Countdown to Christmas is here, and we’re wrapping up the weekend with Mr. & Mrs. Christmas! A Christmas market, a family figuring out a fresh start, and a little romance along the way? I am not mad about any of it. Give me the twinkly lights and the feelings. I’m ready.
What I love about this setup is that making Christmas special means so much to Taylor (Penny) but his kids are going through a lot of change. He wants to give them something familiar to hold on to. His daughter might want something different. And honestly, there’s something a little heartbreaking about realizing that a tradition you love doesn’t mean quite the same thing to someone anymore.
Taylor can’t plan his way into the Christmas he wants. When his attempt to help his teenage daughter backfires, he has to rethink what making the season special actually means. And as he and Sophie grow closer, there’s room for something neither of them planned.
That’s the part that has me interested: the change. Letting your kids grow up, making space for someone new, and figuring out which traditions to keep—and which ones you’re ready to create together. I love a festive backdrop, but a family learning how to meet each other where they are? That’s what could make this one feel like Christmas.
