I don’t watch Riverdale. I admit it. That show confuses the shit out of me and is so far gone that I gave up a long time ago.
That being said, I am going to watch Katy Keene. It’s a “spin-off” from Riverdale and I have to admit that I am intrigued. I am just praying for a few things…
-
- It makes sense
- There are no secret cults
- The show seems rooted in some realism
- It is fun.
- It gives us all hope
Now, I am not putting down anyone who watched Riverdale. I watch a lot of TV that you may not like.
Katy Keene will be a mid-season show, and it takes place 5 years after Riverdale. It’s in the greatest city, New York City. Lucy Hale leads the cast as a budding fashion designer, and Josie moves in as one of her roommates.
“Their world is populated with kindred-spirit starving artists, including mysterious socialite Pepper Smith (Saving Hope‘s Julia Chan) and Broadway-bound performer Jorge Lopez — and his drag queen alter ego, Ginger (Penny Dreadful‘s Jonny Beauchamp),” per the official logline. “While their climb to the top is rife with obstacles, this found family will stop at nothing to see their names in lights.”
New York is always an adventure. So I am excited to see this adventure unfold. I feel like all of these characters live out their dreams in the center of the universe.
Pursuing your dreams is the best when you have your friends.
