We all work. Some days are short days. Some days are long days. Every job is different and to be honest with you, we wouldn’t want the work hours of someone on a TV show or a movie. The hours that they put in are insane.
We appreciate those hours. We know the joy that it gives us as we sit down every week and watch our favorite show. But we’ll be honest, We were a little taken a back when we heard about KJ Apa’s car accident after a long day on Riverdale.
KJ Apa talked about the accident when speaking to Esquire.
“That was just a one-off accident, and it was a mistake on my part. I should have pulled over and gone to sleep instead of battling my way home. But I learned from it. It was a blessing in disguise. I came out unscathed, and I thank God that I’m okay—it could have been a lot worse. The schedule didn’t change. It’s still a requirement for the actors to drive to work, which is fair enough. The crew works longer than we do, and they have to drive back and forth to work every day. It puts things in perspective for actors on other shows; when you’re driving home, you’ve got to be mindful and make sure your mind’s right and that you’re not tired. I was really lucky the production was there for me and helped me the whole way, which made me feel looked after.” he said.
We want actors and crew alike to be taken care of. We’re glad that KJ is okay, but if he’s tired, next time, we hope he pulls off the road and takes a nap.
Or better yet, doesn’t get behind the wheel at all.
