Looks like Nick Clark isn’t going to be taking a shower anytime soon!
Fear the Walking Dead has just released the first solo picture of Nick Clark, played by Frank Dillane, over on Entertainment Weekly. And he’s filthy!
Check it out below:
We had hopes for him when he seemed to finally kick the drug habit during season 2A. He was strong, determined, and didn’t want to be controlled by something that had plagued him and destroyed his family. Then Celia got into his head. She twisted the world around them and made Nick connect on a fundamental level with the undead.
He believes they’re just like him.
The second half of season 2 will continue to explore Nick’s decision to walk away from his family and his new “connection” with the walkers.
According to the showrunner Dave Erickson:
“For Nick, he wants to find a place where people see the dead the way he does. Where people see the dead not as a threat, not as a danger, but as an extension of themselves – sort of an evolution. That’s his goal. So, when he leaves, when he realizes Celia’s gone, and the compound is burned, he’s going to set out to find people who are more likeminded and will give him some clues along the way. And then it sort of falls into the be-careful-what-you-wish-for category. When he actually gets to a place with some degree of spiritual comfort for him. It’s not going to last very long.”
The back half of the season will also focus on how the family will reunite (number #1 priority right there) and how separating in the apocalypse changes them all. They’ll have to find their place in the new world older and not lose the people they were before.
Fear the Walking Dead returns for 2B August 21 @ 9p.m. on AMC.
