Chicago P.D. has definitely been messing with our emotions lately.
Not only did Jay Halstead and Erin Lindsay take a break from their romance (crying in a corner, here!), but there has been hiatus after hiatus where we’ve had to wait for new episodes to return.
With just four episodes left in Chicago P.D.‘s fourth season, we’re gearing up for the most wonderful (aka busy) time of the year: May sweeps.
In EW’s Spoiler Room, Chicago P.D. star Marina Squerciati teased that the show’s season finale is “definitely Linstead focused” and that there are “pretty big” developments in Halstead and Lindsay’s relationship — although there wasn’t any specifications on whether that was positive or negative.
In “Remember the Devil,” Halstead and Lindsay took a break from their relationship after Halstead realized that he hadn’t truly dealt with his PTSD from his time in the military. They didn’t break up because they didn’t love each other anymore. In fact, they broke up because they were in love. There was some soul searching that Jay needed to do before he could give Erin what she truly deserves.
Given Linstead’s current state — on a break as Halstead works through his PTSD — things can only go up from here. So here’s wishing, hoping, praying that we get a Linstead reunion in the season 4 finale.
Please, Chicago P.D., don’t ruin our summer.
Chicago P.D. airs Wednesdays at 10/9c on NBC.
