With 1D on a hiatus for an undisclosed amount of time, this means that news on their comings, goings, and overall doings are hit and miss. While all 4 lads are recording, touring, and performing, they are always up to something, but news wise…it makes for a little mish-mash of information.
So, for the time being, we’re going to go with a new format for the world of One Direction. The 1D Chronicles will be a weekly installment, coming to you on Saturdays, providing an overview of what each of the lads have been up to over the course of the week. Obviously, if something massive happens like Harry Styles is voted Britain’s next PM or what not, we will be all over that in real time. But for now, this allows a snapshot of the 1D world without overload.
So, here we go with the inaugural 1D Chronicles!
HARRY
Harry had a rather impressive week, with his most notable occurrence being a sit down with Cameron Crowe in LA at the Grammy Museum. Now, the venue is of course a little nod to an award we all hope Mr Styles nabs for his solo debut, but for the time being he discussed life without 1D, hiding away to record his album, and hitting number 1.
Harry kicks off his world tour September 19th in San Fransisco, but reflecting on the recording process was a big topic, as he hid away in Jamaica to put this album together. He admits there was no pressure, and it was a creative atmosphere to truly consider what he wanted to say.
“I felt I was going into the studio to make an album I wanted to make. I didn’t feel like, what do I need to make as Harry from that band for it to be good? I missed music. I just wanted to go on and write with my friends and have a good time and hopefully like what came out at the end.” – Harry Styles
On a more personal note, when asked by fans about the significance of the rings he always wears, he admits they are from important people in his life, including his grandparents.
NIALL
Nialler is another member who had a rather exciting week. First off, it was his 24th birthday on September 13th, to which social media was flooded with well wishes from fans, celebs and 1D members alike. Next, he was all business, announcing his album release date, October 20, and title which is Flicker, you would think that there wasnt anything else he could do to set the fandom ablaze. Well, you would be wrong, because only a day later he released the third track from the upcoming album, Too Much To Ask, AND he releases tour dates all over the world for 2018, with Maren Morris as an opener. He showed this week that he is ready to show what he’s got with a go big or go home mentality, and fans are barely containing their excitement.
Here are the dates for you to check if he’s coming to your town!

LIAM
Moving on to our lovely Payno, he has been more subdued this week than a few of his mates. Wishing Nialler a happy birthday on September 13, setting the fandom in awes over the cuteness. There were rumors that he and girlfriend Cheryl were considering having baby number 2, however it is also rumored that Cheryl has put the brakes on that one. But proving he is a devoted and loving partner, he does reveal that he has named his new yacht The Cheryl after Ms Cole. Well, thats just freaking adorable.
In business, Liam made an appearance on the Late Late Show with James Cordon, to which he and the host did a rather impressive riff off featuring solo vs boy band tunes. In the end, while it was a strong battle, Payne came out on top! And it was definitely a fun spectacle.
LOUIS
The Tommo is another member who had a rather chill week, but at least in terms of music and work. Personally, however, it was anything but relaxing for the star as he was forced to resort to contacting the police after receiving death threats and pornographic content through Whatsapp. These messages apparently came from different numbers but are believed to be from the same person. While Louis in true sass master fashion did initially respond to the messages himself, they did not stop, forcing him to turn to the authorities for help.
We hope that the police get to the bottom of this, and the person is charged. It will never cease to amaze us the behavior of individuals when they think they have power through a keyboard. *le sigh*
Well, that is the week of 1D for now. Check back next Sunday to see what the lads have been up to then!
