Raul Castillo and Adrian Gonzalez have been cast for reccuring roles in Starz Vida, a Latinx half-hour show about two sisters, played by Melissa Barrera and Mishel Prada, coming back home after the death of their mother.
Raul Castillo is best know for Looking and We the Animals. He will be playing Baco, a handyman set to work at the bar. Baco will be a welcome helping hand as Eddy is recovering but will have a questionable past. Gonzalez will play Rudy, a city councilman who Lyn encounters during a gym class. He’s best known for his roles in Superstore, From Here on OUT, and Your Family or Mine.
The first season of the show has been critically acclaimed and very well received by the Latinx and queer community. The show currently holds a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and reviews for it’s depiction of the Latinx and the LGBTQ+ communities continue being overwhelmingly favorable.
Vida stars Mishel Prada, Melissa Barrera, Ser Anzoategui, Chelsea Rendon, Carlos Miranda and Maria Elena Laas. Season two will see the directorial debut of creator/showrunner Tanya Saracho. Ser Anzoategui, Chelsea Rendon, Carlos Miranda and Roberta Colindrez are set to also return for season two of Starz Vida.
