This week’s chapter of Katy Keene is titled “What Becomes of the Broken Hearted,” and it fits. We had moments where the characters learned hard lessons and hearts got broken, but there was also some hope.
In light of everything, some hard truths were revealed, and our Katy Keene group of broken hearted people didn’t let it get them down. Let’s jump in!
HARD TRUTHS

Hard truths for the win. I’m so proud of Josie! She is being the definition of a true friend by telling you a hard truth to your face. Not telling you a pretty lie. Katy needs to learn that while her aspirations are important, so are KO’s. She needs to decide what her priorities are for her. She can’t avoid him like she has been doing, or just give him things to make it better.

That’s a shitty thing to do in a relationship. I would rather have an honest conversation than you not telling me the truth, or skating over the issue. This is going to come back and bite Katy in the ass in the future, with more problems. They both got their hearts broken over this one.
THE LAND OF BROKEN AND MENDED HEARTS

While there was a fair share of broken hearts this episode, there was mending to go along with it. I think it was great that our squad took the time and thought out about what they really wanted.
Would it hurt? Would it be better in the long run? What is best for me? What can I live with? I felt that those were some of the unsaid questions that they all asked themselves. I’m glad that they could be honest and open with themselves, and take the initiative to do what was hard.
Katy broke up with KO, even though she didn’t want to. It was the right thing to do at the time. Josie drew a line in the sand between her and Alex, and made the decision to focus on her career, not her love life. Pepper managed to get the money she needed with an ingenious scheme, because she couldn’t live with sleeping with someone for money. Lastly, Jorge went after a new love interest.
I find it is often when our hearts break that we learn the most about ourselves and what we truly need.
