According to Deadline, Rosario Dawson has been confirmed for a guest starring role in season two of Disney+’s The Mandalorian. Other sources have mentioned that Dawson has been cast as fan-favorite Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars: Rebels character, Ahsoka Tano. While Dawson’s resume demonstrates that she definitely has the chops to play a character like Ahsoka, it is important to note that at the time of publication, there has been NO OFFICIAL confirmation of Dawson as Ahsoka from Disney, Lucasfilm, or even Dawson herself.
Dawson is currently the lead in Briarpatch, where she plays the role of Allegra Dill, an investigator on the hunt for her police officer sister’s killer. Her previous genre roles include Claire Temple in Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and The Defenders. She also is the voice of Barbara Gordon/Batgirl is The Lego Batman Movie, as well as Wonder Woman in other animated DC Justice League films. Other genre credits include Men in Black II, Sin City, Percy Jackson & the Olympians, and my personal favorite, Josie and the Pussycats.
This news also comes amid recent allegations toward Dawson and her family for their alleged harassment and abuse of a transgender person. While this matter is still under investigation, it is important to note that here at Fangirlish that we do not support or endorse the harassment or abuse of ANYONE.
