I will give Quibi this – they aren’t afraid to go there. They see something and they go for it. They are going to take chances.
They are going to make sure that if there is blood – you see blood. If there is a bone broken in half and pultruding out of of someones skin.
Yup, don’t you worry your pretty little face. You are going to see that too.
As you may recall, at the end of episode 9, Paul had fallen off the side of a cliff.
Jane made her way down the mountain to Paul, where he was in even more pain. Remember that his side is bruised and its obviously internal bleeding. Paul can barely move. But he’s journeyed through it – but now, he’s broken his arm and the bone is broken and coming out of his arm.
He tells Jane that she needs to set the bone. She needs to get the sticks and set the bone. Paul keeps telling her to hurry up and she goes as fast as she can.
Paul screams out when Jane sets the bone and gives him some pills to help with the pain.
I can’t help but feel for Paul because this man can’t catch a break. He’s obviously scared of dying, but I also believe that he’s scared of living also. I think that all of the things that he is facing, he’s figuring out if he has the strength to make it.
But the thing is Paul doesn’t realize how strong he is.
When they stop and Paul falls asleep – Jane admits that she needs him. For Jane, that’s as vulnerable as she can get. For Jane, it’s probably scarier than going down a mountain.
The next morning as they continue down the mountain, Paul starts to vomit up blood. Not even gonna lie – I became nauseated watching it. But I was concerned over Paul. If there is anything that I have learned watching this is that these two need each other.
Paul tells her that she has to go on. Paul tells her that she has to go and get help. Jane doesn’t want to leave him.
She knows that what he’s going through is serious. She gives him pain pills to help him get through it. She smiles at him and tries to assure him that all is okay.
But we all know it’s not.
These two exchange I love you’s, and even though I am not saying that they don’t love each other – I am also just saying that I think it’s too soon. It feels a little out of place.
But I am wondering if it was forced so early because she’s afraid that he’s going to die. They have bonded. They need each other. BUT – I am scared that won’t be enough to sustain.
Jane leaves Paul and we see a tear fall down his cheek. He’s obviously afraid. Will be make it? Won’t he?
