There are very few people on this earth that know what is going on with Britney Spears, and very few people that need to know. I get that we all have a morbid curiosity as to what is happening with her – but the fact remains that it isn’t our business.
Britney Spears has petitioned the courts so that part of her conservatorship is made public. And hey, she knows what should be kept secret and what shouldn’t. I know that some would disagree with that, but I firmly believe that she is aware of what is happening, what the world is saying, and sees enough doctors to know what she can and cannot handle.
Her father though, has filed paperwork to keep her from that. And to be honest, as much as I don’t like Jamie Spears, I get why he wants to keep her medical records private.
There is such a stigma with any and all medical issues – especially those having to do with mental health. Jamie says that if the records become public it could have a detrimental effect on Britney, and that it also wouldn’t be good for her kids.
And this is one time that I can see where he’s coming from.
The conservatorship has been in place since 2008, and Britney could petition to end it any time. She hasn’t as of yet, but has made it clear she doesn’t want her father to return to being in charge of the conservatorship.
Jamie has said that the conservatorship of her person and estate are “inextricably entwined” and opening any records could expose sensitive medical information.
What do you think? Do you think that Britney’s conservatorship information – all of it – should remain private?
