I’m a rock n’ roll girl deep in my bones, which is why suddenly Miley Cyrus’ new album Plastic Hearts has suddenly captured my full and undivided attention.
From what I’ve heard so far, Miley’s new sound brings a little bit of rock n’ roll back to music, which includes a pair of ’80s rock covers that will appear on Plastic Hearts.
“I began this album over 2 years ago,” Miley said. “Thought I had it all figured out. Not just the record—its songs/sounds but my whole fucking life. No one checks an ego like life itself. Just when I thought the body of work was finished it was all erased, including most of the music’s relevance because everything had changed.”
Now, Plastic Hearts is set to release on Nov. 27, which includes her debut hit “Midnight Sky.” But Miley’s also teaming up with a rock legend for a special remix of that song.
Miley and Stevie Nicks have teamed up to record “Edge of Midnight,” a remix of Miley’s “Midnight Sky” and Stevie’s 1982 single “Edge of Seventeen.”
And, I can’t lie, I’m kind of loving it!
“@StevieNicks has always been my idol & an inspiration. It’s an honor to now call her my friend and collaborator,” Cyrus wrote on Instagram. Nicks said that collaborating with Cyrus was “magical” and that she “loved singing with her!”
Take a listen to the full song and prepare to fall in love.
“Edge of Midnight” is the fourth song off Miley’s new album Plastic Hearts, which has also included the original song “Midnight Sky” and a pair of rock covers in Blondies “Heart of Glass” and The Cranberries’ “Zombie.”
And I don’t know about you, but I’m ready.
