We’re big fans of actress Amanda Schull around here. We loved her on Center Stage, on Suits, and most recently for us, on 12 Monkeys. So, when we heard she was doing a Christmas movie, well that Christmas movie instantly went up the list of things we were looking forward to watching this December.
Especially because, like, if I squint, I can imagine that’s Cassie and Cole on the poster, which I promise you, I will, and also because, even when I’m not imagining that, I generally approve of the male love interest, which doesn’t always happen.
And then, of course, Amanda herself posted this on Instagram, and it was just the vibe we wanted for a Christmas movie, which made it, if possible, even better:
The movie is part of the network’s annual “Miracles of Christmas” Programming Event.

Here’s the synopsis:
For years, Lucy (Schull) has played Santa to her small town’s community by making their holiday wishes come true. Spearheading her Christmas Crew of one, Lucy takes to the radio waves each Christmas in search of her Wish of the Season. Since losing his wife, Christmas has been a time of grief for Lucas (Van Winkle) and filled with memories of what used to be for his daughter, Max. Lucy’s storybook Christmas persona leaves Lucas wary of small-town life but gives Max the platform she’s been waiting for: a direct line to Santa. Publicly wishing for “Christmas, like it used to be,” Max becomes the town’s Wish of the Season. But when Lucy sets out to grant Max’s wish, she unexpectedly finds her own wishes coming true in life…and love.
The movie stars Amanda Schull and Travis Van Winkle and it will premiere December 20 at 10/9c on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
