I’ve watched this video on a loop for the past day. Like, every time I need a pick me up, or like, basically every few minutes, just to feel better. Because Sasha Calle’s reaction to learning she’s been cast as Supergirl for the new The Flash movie is …everything.
And it’s not just about getting a new Supergirl, which hey, girl power, it’s about getting a latina Supergirl. And about hearing the director for The Flash, another latino, get to deliver the news. You can legitimately see how he switches to English just because he knows the conversation is being recorded and DC wants it released.
“Little me would be like, ‘No way,’” Calle says at one point in the video, through tears. “I’m probably not going to stop crying all day.”

The Flash movie is set to begin filming this year, with a planned November release for 2022.
