Welcome back Nancy Drew fans! I missed you all last week thanks to Nancy Drew being on a hiatus. It was a total bummer, but this week she is back and helping to solve the mystery of a college girl gone missing or kidnapped by a ghost? Nancy’s not sure and neither are we at first. I’m very likely to believe a ghost kidnapped her and stole her body because Horseshoe Bay is a hellmouth after all but Nancy’s not so sure, this isn’t just a plain old case of a girl who needed a break so she ran away. We have a lot to discuss, I mean George is still possessed by Odette and losing track of time, Nick is super worried about her and Bess is married! OMG! More on that later, for now let’s dive into Nancy Drew “The Case of the Murder Hotel” shall we.
The Witching Hour

Everywhere in Horseshoe Bay is practically haunted. Homes, schools, graveyards, and hotels. So why in the world thinks that this famous seaside hotel is just a hoax is beyond me. Obviously Nancy has her doubts because she’s Nancy but a ton of people have died in room 413 of this hotel, and so it’s the perfect place to haze someone or scare them to death. A group of college girls on the volley ball team are recruiting new members, and for whatever reason, in order to make the team you have to spend the night in this room. It’s DUMB, right? I thought so too, but whatever. That is plot we were dealt, so I just went with it. Predictably the girl who is being hazed vanishes and her friends are scared and call on Nancy to help, because she has a huge following on her blog. For Real? Love it. Anyway, Nancy goes to investigate while the girls stay at her house with Ace and Nick. Nancy recruits Bess and George to help her and the find a hidden door in the room that leads to the basement. Turns out the hotel has been running a scam (sorta) and has fake screams, rattling chains and fake blood all coming out of the so-called haunted room. Nancy is not impressed and neither am I. The only good thing to come out of this was clearly the girl wasn’t kidnapped she figured out there was a trap door and ran.
The Possession of George

Man, oh man! Odette is really trying to hang on and stay in our world ya’ll! George is getting weaker as a result because Odette is staring to have more control over George’s body, so much so, that George loses time, wakes up in strange places and can see Odette in the mirror instead of her own reflection. Sound familiar? Don’t even get me started on the Haunting of Bly Manor, Nancy Drew writers! George hasn’t told anyone, which is NOT good. When has possession every turned out well for anyone George? Ugh. I was so annoyed with her for keeping it a secret for this long, I’m really worried about her, especially when Nancy sees George on the surveillance of the hotel and she is in the basement with the missing girl. WTF? How did Odette know about the basement? Or even the hotel? She never made it to land remember? I’m so confused. At this point Nancy and Bess are concerned. FINALLY! George tells them she’s possessed by Odette and I’m thinking ya’ll need to locate Hannah a.k.a. Giles and nip this in the bud, send Odette into the white light and move on. Odette told Bess she is never leaving George’s body and the only way she will is if George dies. Somebody come get this Bitch please!
All’s Well That Ends Well

Do you all remember in season one, when Nancy told us about tanking her senior of high school because her mom died suddenly? Nancy really wanted to go to Columbia University, but totally blew it. Nancy thinks its because she did so poorly her last year of high school and she also never took the SAT’s. Does anyone care about any of that post COVID though? Nah girl! Go ahead and apply, the worst they can do is waitlist you, because you are plenty smart and you’ve solved hundreds of mysteries, you’re better than the police detectives! I don’t necessarily want Nancy to leave Horseshoe Bay, but I do want her to know she has options. I do want her to believe in herself and her abilities again, so I’m rooting for her. Meanwhile Ace scores a date with Boppsey twin who’s a thief, and BOMBSHELL, just as the credits are about to roll, a man who’s face is blurred out checks into the ‘Murder Hotel’ and drops a picture of his wife on the counter, says he’s flew over from the U.K. looking for her and that she’s his wife. Ya’ll, its freaking BESS!! Bess, I said! Ace’s eyes’ bulge and the credits roll. Until next week guys!
Nancy Drew airs at 9/8c on the CW.
